Saroj Art Printers has installed India’s first MK Masterwork Ecocut 106 CS in a bid to support its pharma packaging and offset printing operations. The die-cutting and stripping machine is supplied by Heidelberg India.
The Mumbai-based specialist in pharmaceutical packaging operates a production unit dedicated to mono cartons and folding cartons.
Manoj Todi, director at Saroj Art Printers, commented: “Our core focus is packaging and pharma printing, where precision and reliability are non-negotiable. For our post-press operations, we needed a die-cutter that could match our standards. The MK Masterwork Ecocut 106 CS fits that need perfectly. Installing the first EcoCut machine in India is a proud moment for us and marks a decisive step forward in enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and innovation on our shopfloor.”
The EcoCut 106 CS processes sheet formats from 360 by 450 mm to 760 by 1,060 mm. It achieves speeds of up to 7,500 sheets per hour, applying die-cut pressure of 300 tonnes. The machine handles substrates from 90-gsm to 2,000-gsm for solid board, and up to 4 mm for corrugated board. Feeder and delivery pile heights reach 1,150-mm, accommodating loads up to 1,000-kg.
These features allow Saroj Art Printers to produce complex pharma cartons with reliable register accuracy. “The built-in stripping station removes internal waste, which reduces manual labour and ensures compliance-ready output. Non-stop feeder and delivery systems enable in-line sheet checks, minimising downtime and scrap. Quick makeready supports medium-run jobs typical in pharmaceutical work,” said Todi.
