Established during the pre-independent days, Talwar Colour Lab has been upgrading its facility in tune with the ongoing market trends and technologies. The latest investment is part of the same strategy.

Recalling the early days of the company, Ajay Talwar, proprietor, Talwar Colour Lab & Studioz, said, “I am the third generation in our business. My grandfather started the company as a small photography shop in Pakistan during the pre-partition period. It came into a formal company in 1967 when my father joined the business. Then it became what it is today in 1990 with the unveiling of a well-equipped photo printing setup”

Talwar said the company uses high-end digital presses for vivid and life-like photos. “We choose best-in-class digital presses for photo printing. So far, we have used Konica Minolta AccurioPress C3070 professional printer, Xerox Phaser 3200 MFP, among others. Finally, we recently found the right marvel of photo printing — Ricoh Pro C7200X. Now, we are satisfied with the outputs of the Ricoh digital production press,” Talwar said.

He added, “We were in pursuit of a digital production press for premium photo applications. Our search came to a halt at Monotech Systems, where we embarked upon the Ricoh. This digital press has features that match our ambitions. In short, this press ticks all the boxes for us, and we now fully rely on this for an endless range of high-end photo prints.”

He said the speed and quality in print outputs of the Ricoh are what impressed him the most. “It is an advanced digital press designed to print premium graphics on media up to 360-gsm. In addition, the fifth colour station is designed to create white, fluorescent, metallic, clear, security ink and other transparent applications for adding unique and luxurious elements to graphics,” he said.

Backed by a team of more than a dozen highly experienced printing, designing and creative art professionals, Talwar Colour Lab & Studioz pulls customers from all over Uttar Pradesh. The list includes some of the leading photo labs and professional photographers from Lucknow and the neighbouring cities. “We are now gearing up to expand our client base to pull the attention of people from other states like Bihar in future,” Talwar said.

The company is also chalking out the plan to foray into the special packaging printing segment. “We now have the advanced and versatile Rioch Pro C7200X in our facility. This press is an ideal workhorse to explore newer graphic landscapes beyond our age-old photo printing business,” Talwar said.
