This will be supplemented by a similar number of orders for the Prinergy workflow plus incremental number in plate volumes. The buzz at the stall was most for Sonora and Flexcel NX.

Bhalchandra Nikumb, the managing director – India Cluster & West Asia Cluster at Kodak India, said, “We see a move to high quality jobs and sustainability even with our Indian customers. Both demands can be met by Kodak solutions.”

Nikumb added that there was considerable interest in Kodak digital solutions. “The new capabilities of the NexPress ZX3900 attracted quite a few eyeballs. Also, there was a lot of attention to Prosper Press and inkjet heads as viable replacements to offset setups,” he added.

He was bullish about the next quarter when he said, “All in all, we have a lot of leads from the exhibition and some solid enquiries that are underway. Looking to close on most of these by end-Q3/ early Q4 2016.”

Meanwhile, Kodak presented sustainability awards to Sonora plate customers in India. Key names are K Joshi and Company (Pune), Viraj Prints (Mumbai), Akruti Offset (Pune), Secunderabad Printing Cartons (Hyderabad), Tirumala Printers (Hyderabad), Sai Likhita (Hyderabad), Balaji Scan (Hyderabad), and Mesh Prints (Bhopal), among others.

A prime example, said Nikumb, is Mumbai-based Viraj, who reinvented the game with the use of Sonora for specific UV printing applications. “Viraj has world class printing samples, some of which are on display at Kodak's Drupa booth,” Nikumb said. “These customers are doing myriad applications and loving the ease of operation that Sonora has brought to their businesses, along with a more sustainable print setup.”
