The slew of investment includes Morgana’s DigiBook 150 PUR perfect binding machine, paper folder, DigiCreaser a creasing/perforating machine and paper jogger. Whereas, the investment from Renz includes a Renz SPB360 spiral binder and a wiro binder.

Speaking about the investments, Malsawm Tluanga, managing director, Inkspot Digiprint Solutions, said, “The investments were made to cater to the growing demand for the print-on-demand market in Mizoram, which was earlier outsourced to neighbouring states. Today, we are equipped to handle all kinds of digital print jobs and a complete binding solution.”

According to Tluanga, the idea behind investing in the finishing kits from Morgana and Renz, was to automate the workflow and to cut down on operational costs in the long run.

The firm invested in the machineries from Malhotra Graphics based on quality of the product, and the after-sales support offered. “Keeping in mind the remote location of our unit, and the logistical difficulties for immediate and prompt redressal in case of technical snags, the investments were made,” added Tluanga.

Tluanga added, “All the machines installed are running smoothly. In terms of ROI of the machines, as long as we provide quality and service to our customers, the ROI will eventually be met.”

Inkspot’s numbers in terms of print output are staggering. According to Tluanga, Inkspot produces over seven lakh impressions of A3 size in a month, out of which 50% impressions is of black and white copies. In addition to this, the firm outputs 50,000-70,000sq/ft signage prints per month, on its raft of four wide-format machines from Roland, Negi and Mutoh.

Established in 2014, Inkspot Digiprint Solutions was started with an aim to cater to the growing demand for the print-on-demand of the local market in Aizawl, Mizoram. The unit is managed by a team of twelve skilled technicians and 10 semi-skilled personnel who have undergone intensive training. The firm has recently ventured into the signage and silkscreen in addition to the commercial and digital print market.
