In the fiercely competitive world of commercial printing, some companies don't just keep up; they set the pace. Inkfinity, a prominent name in the industry, exemplifies this spirit of relentless pursuit of excellence. And the cornerstone of the company’s high-volume bookbinding capabilities is a Bindwel six-clamp perfect binder.
Inkfinity's decision to invest in a Bindwel perfect binder was a strategic move, driven by a clear vision for the future, rather than an immediate crisis.
"As such, no challenge," Akshat Gupta of Inkfinity Prints said. "I wanted speed in my turnaround times. That’s why I went for the binder."
This wasn't about fixing a current bindery problem, though Gupta acknowledges facing challenges on another machine that might warrant future investment. Instead, this was about seizing an opportunity, building a completely new setup tailored for optimal speed and efficiency.
This forward-thinking approach led the company directly to Bindwel. "Anyways, Bindwel is much more trustworthy as compared to its other counterparts that are available in India," Gupta said, underscoring the deep trust and confidence placed in the Bindwel brand for the company's high-volume bookbinding requirements. This trust is not just professional; it's familial, as will be highlighted later.
Inkfinity Prints is led by Akshat and Kartik Gupta, following in the footsteps of their father, Deepak Gupta, who founded the company in 1989.
It boasts two robust facilities, strategically located within the bustling Delhi-NCR region, each designed to cater to specific production needs.
The Delhi facility, spanning a focused 1500-sqft, is a pure digital setup. It’s optimised for handling extremely short runs, offering agile and rapid solutions for urgent demands. This unit operates from 9 am to 9 pm, ensuring extended availability for quick turnarounds.
The Noida facility, a more expansive 8,000-sqft, houses a slightly larger setup. This powerhouse operates from 9 am to 7 pm on most days, but during peak season, it seamlessly shifts into a 24-hour, two-shift operation, demonstrating Inkfinity's capacity and flexibility.
Inkfinity's excellence is deeply embedded in its unique selling proposition: catering to a very select clientele. This isn't just a marketing statement; it’s a core business strategy. The Inkfinity team understands that its discerning customers expect nothing but the best, and they deliver on that promise. Gupta said, “Becoming a client of Inkfinity is difficult, but whoever is a client of Inkfinity gets prompt service and on-time service always.” This unwavering dedication to client satisfaction drives every aspect of its high-volume bookbinding operations.
Inkfinity's impressive capacity is backed by a formidable array of advanced machinery, capable of handling diverse print requirements with precision and efficiency. Its digital printing capabilities are robust, featuring multiple Konica Minolta presses (both monochrome and colour), alongside Canon, Fuji, and HP machines, including some non-Figma Canon colour presses. It digital arsenal allows for extreme flexibility and personalisation, crucial for modern book production.
Beyond digital, it also leverages an Atexco Vega Press 440 colour, indicating strong capabilities in high-volume or specialised colour printing.
For post-press, it is well-equipped, featuring a Chinese single-clamp binder, a Bindwel single-clamp binder and a Bindwel six-clamp perfect binder, which is the cornerstone of its high-volume bookbinding capabilities.
Gupta said the Bindwel machines were specifically chosen due to the profound trust they have in Bindwel "as a family." This trust extends beyond a single machine; within their broader family operations, they proudly operate "more than eight to 10 Bindwel six-clamp binders," showcasing a long-standing and successful partnership.
When pressed on specific features, the milling and scoring quality of Bindwel machines stood out. "The milling and scoring of Bindwel is, I believe, very decent as compared to the other similarly priced products," he said. This technical superiority ensures excellent bind strength and a clean, professional finish, crucial for high-volume bookbinding where consistency is paramount.
The true measure of a machine's capability lies in its performance under demanding conditions. Gupta said, “We did close to 15,000 books in a span of 20 hours," Gupta said. This impressive feat involved covering close to 180 to 200 SKUs. While the physical size of the books remained consistent, the challenge lay in handling varying spine widths across these numerous titles.
“Doing 20,000 books on this machine is a piece of cake," he said. "But doing 20,000 books with 200 SKUs is not an easy task." This highlights the Bindwel machine's exceptional suitability for complex, high-mix, high-volume bookbinding jobs where quick changeovers and consistent quality across diverse products are critical. The machine's ability to seamlessly handle such variety and volume underscores its status as a true workhorse.
Bindwel's commitment to its customers extends far beyond the sale of a machine. Inkfinity's experience with Bindwel's technical support is a testament to this, rated a good solid 9 to 9 and a half. This near-perfect score speaks volumes about the responsiveness and expertise of the Bindwel service team in facilitating high-volume bookbinding operations.
