The Indian packaging shows to attend in 2017

India is set to host many packaging exhibitions. A compilation by Krishna Naidu of the best ones you must-attend.

For starts attend, Plastivision India which is organised by All India Plastic Manufacturer's Association (AIPMA). Over 1500+ exhibiting and partnering companies will be taking part at the show. Plastivision India is the only trade fair exhibition from the plastic industry approved by UFI (the premier Paris-based exhibition authority). Plastivision India is hosting a special pavilion - Plastivision job and career fair for the plastic industry to provide employment opportunities for job seekers and offer a wider choice of selection to the employers. The dates and venue: 19 to 23 January, Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai

Also pack your bags for a nippy winter end in Greater Noida if you are keen to attend PrintPack India. The 13th edition with 325 exhibitors confirmed is from 4 to 8 February, India Expo Centre, Greater Noida

The Aroras are back with PackPlus South which has moved to Bengaluru. The exhibitor side of the four-day will have major manufacturers of filling machines, pouch making systems, FFS lines and corrugation will be making their presence at the show. Also there is a concurrent show, PrintFair 2017. The dates and venue are: 7 to 10 April, BIEC, Bengaluru.

The Aroras are also hosting CartonTech, from 3 to 6 August, Pragati Maidan, is for printers, converters, folding carton manufacturers, rigid box manufacturers and carton users from food, wine and spirits, liquids beverages, pharma, healthcare, and household cleaning industries. PackPlus will be running concurrently with CartonTech.

Food Logistics India, an international exhibition on logistics and warehousing for food and drink industry, made its debut during the four-day PackEx India, a B2B platform for the Indian food and beverage market. The dates and venue: 21 to 23 August 2017, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi

A show which impressed us was the Sino Corrugated and IndiaCorr Expo. Organised by Reed Manch Exhibitions, India and Shanghai, was inaugurated at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida on 6 October 2015. Corrugated board and boxes production are approximately 6.5 billion square metres in 2014-15. About 15,000 units, including organised and unorganised sector, the approximate value of output is Rs 18,500 crore. The dates and venue are 14 to 17 September 2017, India Expo Mart, Greater Noida.

The Intelpack, Supply Chain Expo, Pharma Pack and Food Tek is co-located with SupplyChain Expo 2017. Over 250 exhibitors to present solutions in 12,000 sq/mtrs space and having a footfall of 10,000 attendees. The dates and venue: 26 to 28 September, Bombay Exhibition Center, Mumbai

The organisers, Messe Düsseldorf India and the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), have agreed on a collaborative venture called Pacprocess. In October 2017, a combination of pacprocess India, now realigned by Messe Düsseldorf India and IndiaPack, an event created by IIP and well established in the Indian market, is planned for New Delhi.

And finally, watch out for the All India Federation of Master Printers' and Print-Packaging.Com Pamex show at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai from 18 to 21 December 2017. According to the organisers, 5,500 sq/m of space have already been booked a year ahead of the show. The last edition of the show saw over 300 exhibitors and 20,441 trade visitors.
