India’s printers shine at Asia Awards; Pragati bags seven

India and Pragati were the stars at the 10th edition of the Asian Print Awards which were held on 29 November 2012, at Resort World Convention Center on Sentosa Island, Singapore.

Gold, silver and bronze awards were conferred to printers in 24 categories — of which Hyderabad-based Pragati bagged the metals in seven categories which included: four golds, two silvers, a bronze and an award for creative use of colour.

Pragati’s award winning samples included:
– gold for Pragati Calendar 2012 in the category self promotion
– gold for Yella Orrum Tamil Movie launch card in the category leaflets, folders brochures
– gold for DAG – Indian Landscapes for the category limited editions and artwork reproductions
– gold for Black Dog 21 years rigid box in packaging
– silver for Swiss Air wall calendar in the calendar category
– silver for Story of a Prince in the embellishment category
–  bronze for ITC Gold Flake Poster in the posters and show cards category
 
In addition to the seven awards, Pragati was also honoured with a special sponsor award for the best creative use of colour.
 
P Narendra, director of Pragati Offset said, “We have been participating in this from the last 10 years. This year Pragati won four Golds. two Silvers and one Bronze. This is an unprecedented feat in the Asian Print Awards.”
 

Other than Pragati, the other Indian print firms who scored were: a gold for Silverpoint, Jak Printers who won a bronze in the calendar category, a bronze by Manipal Technologies for digital printing, a bronze by Prince Digi Graphics in the OOH category and a bronze by Anaswara in the multi piece productions and campaigns category.
