Gallus ECS 340 shown at Labelexpo India to go to ITW Signode

Gallus Group participating for the first time with its own and regional Gallus sales and service organisation, Gallus India, demonstrated the next stage of developments of the Gallus ECS 340.

ITW Signode, the industrial packaging solution provider, which acquired the complete operation of Bengaluru-based Wintek Flexo Print announced that the ECS 340 10-colour press on display will be installed at its Bengaluru plant and will aid the company in itspharma, cosmetics, toiletries, food and automobile markets.

The first Gallus ECS 340 without the latest developmental changes, was acquired by Sai Packaging during the last Labelexpo India 2010.

The upgraded granite-based Gallus press will join ITW’s fleet of four Gallus presses – and eight-, nine, ten- and twelve-colour flexo presses and will add significantly to its capacity for production of label.

Gururaj Ballarwad, of Wintek Flexo Prints, speaking to PrintWeek India team, said, “It will not only help us match international standards but also help reduce setup times and wastage.”

The new elements in the Gallus ECS 340 at the show includes an auto register control, cold foil, chilled UV and a short web path of 1.1 meter. The other new element is the aluminium sleeve, which replaces the conventional flexo sleeve. “The new aluminium sleeve will durability to the printing sleeves, make it stable and the print run smooth,” said Samir Patkar, managing director at Gallus India.

Soon the Gallus ECS 340 will also be available with a brand new screen printing unit. However, it will be available only after April, 2013.
