Flint Group, a leading global supplier of printing inks and coating solutions, has expanded its presence in India with the inauguration of a new manufacturing plant in Salvi, Vadodara. This strategic investment comes as India's packaging printing market is experiencing robust growth, fueled by rising consumption, e-commerce expansion, and a growing demand for sustainable packaging.

The new 9,000-square metre facility substantially increases Flint Group's manufacturing capacity, focusing on the production of its water-based AQUACode range and the EkoCure IN dual-curing range. This move positions the company to better serve a thriving customer base seeking high-performance and more sustainable ink solutions for various applications, including corrugated and aseptic packaging.

Upal Roy, managing director – India, Africa & Middle East at Flint Group, highlighted the impact of e-commerce and quick service restaurants on driving demand for high-quality packaging. He said, "The Vadodara investment is a testament to Flint Group's commitment to supporting this growth and bringing innovative products closer to customers."

In addition to the new plant, Flint Group has also doubled its non-toluene ink production capacity at its nearby Lamdapura facility in response to evolving regulatory requirements and the industry's shift away from toluene-based products. The Lamdapura site also operates as a zero-discharge facility and is actively exploring further sustainability initiatives.

With flexographic printing gaining ground over traditional gravure, Flint Group is also capitalising on this trend by expanding its flexo-focused offerings and investing in industry experts to enhance technical service and application support.

Heiner Klokkers, CEO and president Packaging Inks Europe, for Flint Group, underscored the critical role of the Indian facilities within Flint Group's global network, delivering innovative, regulatory-compliant, and sustainable solutions to international key accounts.

Flint Group's investment in Vadodara and Lamdapura strategically positions the company at the forefront of India's packaging printing market transformation, with expanded capacity, a focus on sustainable solutions, and a strong commitment to customer service to support the industry's next chapter.
