A massive fire broke out around 3 AM on 10 November 2025, at the Bhagwati Paper Mill in the RIICO Industrial Area, Kaladera, under the Chomu subdivision of Jaipur. The fire spread rapidly, reducing large stocks of paper rolls and finished goods to ashes, as reported in multiple news reports.
More than a dozen fire tenders from Chomu, Kaladera, Jaipur, Sarna Dungar, Jobner, Renwal, Reengus, and Manda were deployed to control the inferno. Firefighters battled the flames, but the presence of highly flammable material has made the operation difficult.
Assistant fire officer Jai Kumar Jangid said that the fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. He also revealed that the factory was operating without a fire No Objection Certificate (NOC) and lacked adequate firefighting systems.
A major disaster was narrowly averted when the fire did not spread to a nearby liquor factory, which stores large quantities of spirit. Officials said the outcome could have been catastrophic if the flames had reached the site.
No casualties have been reported so far, but losses amounting to several lakhs of rupees are feared. Authorities from the fire department and Kaladera police are assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the incident.
