Druck and Bindung marked a milestone at Pamex 2026 with the showcase of the Magnabind Layflat Imagebook-3000. The industrial-grade machine, designed to redefine the high-end photo book and album binding market, has already secured its first Indian installation. Rananjay Anand, director of Druck and Bindung, announced that an agreement was signed on the show’s first day with Pune-based Kadam Digital.
The Layflat Imagebook-3000 is positioned as a comprehensive all-in-one industrial solution. Anand shared that the machine automates the entire production workflow, including photo sheet feeding, creasing, folding, glueing, mounting, pressing, and delivery. A standout feature of this high-capacity system is its ERP-enabled labelling module, which prints identifying labels on albums before the final pressing stage to ensure tracking and quality control within a busy production environment.
Beyond the flagship Layflat Imagebook-3000, the company is catering to the broader Indian market with modular versions designed for different speeds and budgets. This includes a fully automatic solution that incorporates the same core technology but at a price point accessible to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Anand emphasised that the goal is to provide Indian printers with the tools to compete with global suppliers, particularly in terms of scalability and return on investment.
Under its Magnabox brand, the company showcased advanced solutions for the luxury packaging sector. This included a modular, collapsible box assembly machine capable of joining hard cases and side wings to form premium folding boxes. The unit is versatile; by swapping the side wing unit for a conveyor unit, it can transition from making collapsible boxes to assembling flip-style or closer boxes used in high-end retail.
Complementing the box assembly line are two specialised machines: the MagnaBox 500D (a magnet hole drilling machine) and the MagnaBox Magnetron 500. The Magnetron 500 is unique for its ability to fix both magnets and iron sheets within the same unit, eliminating the need for separate workstations. This hardware suite targets the rigid box industry, allowing manufacturers to integrate magnetic closures with significantly higher efficiency.
Anand noted that while sales are important, the company’s primary focus at Pamex 2026 is building awareness around these unique technologies.
