Canon India has announced its partnership with PrintWeek Awards 2025 to highlight how technology drives excellence across the industry. As a Co-presenting Partner, the company is the sponsor for Digital Printer of the Year, Innovative Printer of the Year ( Paper, Paper Board, Corrugation).
C Sukumaran, senior director, product and communication, Canon India said, “The Awards are a platform that celebrates excellence and inspires the printing community to keep raising standards. By supporting this initiative, we want to strengthen the Indian print industry and make it more competitive on the global stage.”
The company’s imagePRESS V Series printers are central to this vision. Models such as the V1350, V1000 and V900 combine speed with precision, producing up to 135 pages per minute at 2400x2400dpi. Sukumaran stated, “The V Series supports a wide range of substrates, from uncoated to textured papers, which allows printers to expand into applications suited to multiple Award categories. Features like real-time colour correction and ICC profile support give businesses the confidence to deliver consistent, high-quality results.”
Sustainability is another cornerstone. Canon had introduced energy-efficient presses that cut power consumption, automatic duplex features that reduce paper usage, and high-yield consumables that minimise waste. Sukumaran explained, “Through our Green Environment Together initiative, we have planted more than 50,000 trees by committing one tree for every copier or multifunction device sold. Alongside this, our recycling programmes and the use of FSC- and PEFC-certified media reinforce our commitment to a circular economy.”
Large-format and production print solutions also play a strong role. Printers such as the imagePrograf TZ-5320 and GP Series deliver versatility across applications from engineering drawings to high-impact posters. The upgraded ImagePress V Series with vacuum paper feeding enhances reliability, while demand in packaging is being met with presses that support customisation and short-run jobs.
Canon also invests in workflow automation. “Solutions like Fiery and Prisma help printers work smarter by streamlining processes, reducing errors and cutting turnaround times,” Sukumaran said. “These tools equip Indian printers to meet global standards for quality, creativity and sustainability.”
For Canon, sponsorship of the Awards is more than visibility. As Sukumaran concluded, “Our aim is to encourage the community to keep raising its sights towards the standards celebrated at the PrintWeek Awards.”
