Bindwel has announced its sponsorship of the Women to Watch Awards 2025, organised by PrintWeek and WhatPackaging? The awards aim to celebrate and recognise women leaders and innovators in the printing and packaging sectors.

Pallippuram Sajith, the managing director of Impel Services (Bindwel - Stelda Group), said, “Bindwel, rooted in machine building, application technology, and industrial engineering, has witnessed tremendous contributions made by women across various sectors, including consumables, pre-press, packaging, and administration.”

Bindwel’s sponsorship underscores inclusion and diversity, moving beyond tokenism and opening up opportunities in fields traditionally closed to women. Sajith commented, “In an industry that views operating a printing press, assembling a bookbinding machine, engineering, and machine handling as not a woman’s job.” He continued, “This mindset must change, and it begins with recognition.”

Bindwel will actively engage with the awards throughout the year. Bindwel intends to open its factory doors to nominees and aspiring professionals, offering mentorship and exposure to industrial processes, as well as participation in forums that highlight the stories of women who are helping and leading businesses.

Sajith said, “We hope this initiative sends a strong message to parents, educators, and industry leaders: that women must be encouraged to pursue mechanical and electrical engineering, to learn to run machines, and to envision careers on the factory floor or in machine design labs.” He added. “Because the future of manufacturing, converting, and packaging must belong equally to women.”

Bindwel’s long-term hope is that the Women to Watch award becomes a reference point for what inclusive excellence can look like in print and packaging. Sajith said, “We want this initiative to awaken the industry to the immense potential that lies untapped simply because of legacy thinking. The impact we seek is cultural, structural, and generational.”

Sajith concluded, “Over time, we hope to see women move from the background to the frontlines, being celebrated as the faces of their organisations.” He continued, “We want the visibility that these awards offer to serve as both recognition and invitation for those who are building, leading and inspiring, and to all those who are waiting to be seen, heard, and empowered.”

The Women to Watch Awards may begin as a celebration, but Bindwel believes they will eventually become a catalyst for transformation.

The deliberations for this year’s awards are ongoing, with the announcement of winners expected soon. The August issue of PrintWeek will feature the Women to Watch Award winners.
