More than 250 companies from 22 countries exhibited at the 24th edition of Garment Technology Expo. The four-day show took place at NSIC Exhibition Complex, New Delhi. Total 21,683 visitors attended the show

Apsom showcased the Vastrajet direct-to-fabric digital textile printer. It comes in four models — VJ- 4812, 8812, 4824 and 8824. All models are equipped with eight printing heads and have maximum resolutions up to 1,440dpi
Monotech Systems has installed four Homer digital textile printers in India - three in Faridabad and one in Gurgaon. “Our total installation is around 20 printers, including four installations in the industrial segment and 15 in dye sublimation,” Manoj Kumar Garg of Monotech Systems said. All the 20 printers were installed in the last few months
“We have introduced Colorjet TXF eco-friendly digital textile printer with pigment inks for entry and midlevel printers. It works on drop-on-demand printing technology and is equipped with two printing heads. Printing inks can be reactive/ disperse/ pigment-based and up to eight colour can be printed. It is suitable for cotton, silk, wool, blends and polyester,” said Mukeh Kumar Jha of Apsom Infotex
IDS has around 200 installations across the country, around 70% of which is dye sublimation and rest 30% is direct-to-fabric. According to Ajit Kumar of IDS, currently the market is down but it will pick up soon
Durst India participated in GTE along with its customer, Gurgaon-based Rajdhani Creations. Durst has installed two machines from its Alpha series at Rajdhani. A third machine is on its way. Another machine will be installed at Manesar soon. In total, Durst India has installed five digital printers – two at Rajdhani; one at IR Accessories, Manesar; one each at Jinaam Dresses at Surat and Apsara Silks at Bengaluru
Grafica Flextronica showcased Aeoon’s Compact series digital DTG (direct-to-garment) printing machine at GTE. The digital printing machine is meant for bulk production with a print speed of up to 950 T-shirts an hour (A4 print size, depends on image and resolution)
Mehta Cad Cam Systems launched jeans/denim laser engraver machine which has coherent metal laser tube and can work in the area of 300 to 1200 sq/m

New Delhi-based Tanya Enterprises displayed 55 sq/m an hour printing machine. Tanya is an importer of sublimation inks, sublimation transfer paper, textile machines and others
Mimaki India launched TX330P-1800B, an entry level, belt type, direct-to-textile inkjet printer and displayed two more printers – TX300P-1800 and TS 300P-1800
Surat-based Indo Asia Machines has launched KZ 2000 series - 300 sq/m high speed dye sublimation printer and KZ-X4 series - large format printer for eco-solvent/water base/ sublimation inks
InkTec has been developing and supplying various high quality inks for digital printer. These are based on the inkjet technology used in everything from regular office printers to printers for actual photos in the outdoors. InkTec has developed a UV-curable inkjet printer, Jetrix, and high-quality UV ink with cutting-edge technology in the inkjet area
Blue Jade Tex ink is a water-based inkjet dye ink manufacturer, which produces sublimation, reactive and disperse inks for Epson, Kyocera, Konica Minolta and Spectra print heads
Digitally printed clothes at Garment Technology Expo

There are around 3,000 dyeing mills in India and around 3% of them deploy digital print. The estimate is in the next five years, most of them will go digital. Thus, the opportunities for digital print in textile are unprecedented, and manufacturers are going all out to capture the market. We noticed a glimpse of this during the 24th edition of Garment Technology Expo (GTE) held from 3 to 6 March 2017 at the NSIC exhibition ground in New Delhi.
