Jay Engineering's Excel-10, the window patching machine was launched in 2008. The machine is ideal for the print company's which cater to the envelope manufacturing and direct mailing.

In India, there are more than 35 machines of Excel 10 window patching machines installed. These include installations at print firms like Mail Order Solutions, Seshasai Business Forms, Swastika Printers, Accurate Graphics and AP Art Printers in Mumbai, Bahubali Envelopes in Pune, Arrow Paper Product in Hyderabad, Sky Industries in Gujarat, Rajamani Cottage Industries in Chennai, Gujarat Paper Mart in Ahmedabad, Olympic Cards in Chennai and Chromaprint India in Chennai.

Excel-10 is capable of positioning the material by adjusting the chain dialling pin, it can automatically glue with its cylinder, assuring the equal quantity of glue on the material; its film-pasting parts can adjust the length of film, and its cylinder can automatically paste the film. The processing stage is characterised by a simple operation, precise positioning and reliable performance. As a result, it's a solid product for paper window pasting.

Ajay Gohil, managing director at Jay Engineering says: "We believe that this is one-of-its-kind machine for envelopes. This window film-sticking machine for envelope and carton is designed with a fine-adjustment device. It's easy to adjust and paste films on the windows."

Quality pasting
The machine has been designed for precise cutting of film, which leaves no room for wastage. The traverse blade can cut the film reliably and in a stable manner.

Gohil says: "The machine can handle substrate of 55-150 gsm and paste film from 15-150 microns without any wastage for paper. And for carton it can handle substrates of 150-400 gsm and paste film from 15-150 microns without any wastage. The cutting system is simple and it is designed to reduce the wastage."

The sturdy and compact design of Excel-10 makes it a favourite among the printers.

High production
The Excel-10 is a fully automatic window patching machine and produces at a speed of 150 blanks per minute. Whereas the Excel-10CT is a fully automatic carton window patching machine and produces at a speed of 150 blanks per minute. Due to its high production capacity, the machine is preferred for high volume work. The machine is deployed by print firms which cater to a range of clients that include: banks, insurance companies, public utilities and government agencies with high mail volumes.

Mehul Desai, chairman of the Mumbai-based Mail Order Solutions (MOS) who installed an Excel-10, says: "The performance has proved that it was a wise decision to install Excel-10. We have invested in this kit to cater to our increasing mailing demands."

Easy operation
The Excel-10 is equipped with a digital preset counter. The operator can keep a count of the number of envelopes being window patched.

Gohil says: "The machine is very simple to operate. In fact with a short training course, the operator can start production in real-time. The digital counter helps the operator to monitor the quantity of the job during the production.

Jay Engineering has a team of three service engineers and two mechanical engineers.
