Ecologica - automatic bending machine

With the boom in packaging, this is a good kit in the finishing section. Imagine there is a bottle-neck in your production workflow after the printing stage; and you need to speed up the process at a fair clip. For such a situation, the Ecologica from Serviform is a good investment.

The Ecologica is a modular machine that offers cutting, lipping, bridging and bending functions as standard. Ecologica comes with an interchangeable bending head system; it can work with appropriate tooling of 1.5, 2 and 3 point rule. Rule heights from 12,00 to 32,00 mm. A quick change of the bending head will set the machine to process an alternative rule thickness i.e. 2 point to 3 point.

The best thing is, it takes only a couple of minutes and the bending head weighs only 10kg, so no more bulky head trolleys. The Ecologica machine can bend 90 degree radius to a minimum 2.0-2.5mm radius. It has a small footprint of just 400x900mm and is economical as it consumes low electricity (under 2kw) with three-phase plug operation.

The Ecologica can be seen at A S Print Aids/Capital Graphic Supplies stall in Hall H3 / Stall J-19/21.

Solijet Pro 4 XR-640

To create mass appeal, the MNC’s, FMCG companies are taking full advantage of the outdoor advertising which requires huge prints. This is possible by the wide-format printing technique. Today the out-of-home (OOH) market is estimated to be of Rs 1,800-crore in India.

Founded in 1981 and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Roland DG is one of the leading providers of wide-format inkjet printers for the market such as sign, graphic arts, fine art, vehicle graphics, UV, photography, engraving and 3D modelling industries.

Roland Solijet Pro 4 XR-640 has dual print heads which allows seven to eight -colour printing, maximise output and help eliminate bi-directional banding. It has new, advanced specialty ink capabilities, including light black, high-density white and metallic silver. Roland Eco-Sol Max2 white and metallic silver inks for the XR-640 printers can produce high quality, large scale images in a shorter time than the machine’s predecessor. The printer is capable of printingstunning, vibrant large-format banners, signs, vehicle graphics, decals and POP displays.

Roland Solijet Pro4 XR-640 can be seen at Apsom Infotech stall in Hall 1 / Stall A02/01.

ColorGate

With an increasing awareness on the colour reproduction and at the same time maintaining the brand value, it has become important for the print firms to have system which can produce the desired colour quality with consistency.

ColorGate is RIP software which is used for PDF data handling, colour management, profiling and process standardisation. ColorGate supports international printing standards such as ISO, Fogra, GracoL and the Adobe PDF Print Engine 2.6 (APPE).

It is ideal for commercial, packaging, industrial, large, wide and grand-format printing and pre-press houses.

The ColorGate software can be seen at Advanced Graphic Systems stall in Hall H3 /Stall J-20 / 16 and 18

Autoprint Dion 450+ and Fine Coat 80+ UV and aqueous coating machine

There would be 40,000 printing presses in India which have mini offset presses on their shopfloor consuming approximately 48,000-crore A4 sheets of paper on an average per month.

Small businesses, including publishers and offices, depend on the consistent reliability of mini offset printing. This method is even more impressive when combined with new advances in lithographic techniques. Four-colour print jobs are challenging, as it demands perfect registration.

Coimbatore-based Autoprint Machinery, which is the manufacturer of small offset presses has developed Dion 450 a four-colour small offset press.

Dion 450+ offset press can be used for short-medium run four colour jobs. It offers exceptional print quality with its 15 inking rollers on each colour head. The Kompac automatic dampening system from USA ensures consistent print quality and also acts as an additional inking unit to further enhance the print results.

Fine Coat 80+ is an offline sheet fed UV and aqueous coating machine. It can perform full and spot (UV and aqueous) coating on thin and thick papers at a speed of maximum 5,000 sheets per hour. It is designed to meet the growing demand for a reliable and precision coater for large format printers and packaging units.

Both, Dion 450 and Fine Coat 80 can be seen at Autoprint Machinery stall in Hall 3 / Stall B04/02.

Esko Suite 12 and Kongsberg XE10

The packages are more elaborate than ever, so creating the proof is increasingly expensive – most clients expect a physical proof as part of the service. On the other, the design stage can now include multiple stages, and new proofs are required for each of those. In addition, turn-around times are also shorter.

Producing mock-ups for customer approval is a big problem – the new breed of buyers are unable to use their imagination. They want to see mock ups of the product throughout the design process and they want them instantly. The normal method of running of a proof is spray mounting it to board and CAD cutting a sample is the way to go.

Kongsberg XE10 is a smaller format platform digital cutting table. It is designed to provide a fast, high-quality solution for sample making and short-run production of folding cartons. With the help of wide range of specialty tools, it offers speed, power and flexibility to automatically handle a wide variety of materials common in sample making, such as corrugated, folding carton, solid board, foam, coating blankets, wood and a long list of plastics.

Esko Suit 12 is an integrated software solution for packaging, label, sign and display and commercial print professionals. The applications such as ArtiosCAD, ArtPro, PackEdge, DeskPack and Studio combine interactive editing power and integration with workflow automation and colour management. It has the capability of creating structural design in 3D and realistic graphics editing and visualisation of a package and is an efficient QC tool reducing the risk at human errors. Suite 12 enables mobile interaction. With internet as a backbone for collaboration and resource-sharing, Suite 12 software manages and automates every step of the production workflow.

Kongsberg XE10 and Suite12 can be seen and experienced at Esko’s stall in Hall H3 / Stall J20-02
