The 2024 PrintWeek Awards recognised innovation in paper bag production, with Ocean’s Deep Printers and Lynx Designers and Creators jointly receiving the Packaging Converter of the Year (Paper Bag and Textile Boxes) award. Their achievements underscore the advancements in design and production within the sector.

Ocean’s Deep Printers' winning entries featured a range of premium paper bags. Samples for Vrund and Miloni were produced on 350-gsm white FBB using a Heidelberg SM 74, showcasing an ivory-coloured design with geometric patterns, gold foils, and golden thread.

For The House of Abeer, a metallic gold accent was applied, contributing to a sophisticated aesthetic. Bags for Vishwanath Builders presented a minimalist design with a clean white background, distinguished by punching on the top for the handle and enhanced by precise printing, a matte finish, and expert pasting.

The Fabrika paper bag demonstrated high-quality printing, velvet lamination, Scodix UV, and foiling, combined with precise punching and pasting.

For the upcoming 2025 PrintWeek Awards, the Packaging Converter of the Year category will focus exclusively on paper bags. The award aims to recognise all types of paper bags, including those for garments, FMCG, alco-bev, gift-packs, and eCommerce.

Judging criteria will consider production quality, value added by post-press treatments, timeliness of production, and innovative handle solutions. Entrants are required to submit four unique packaging samples for the textile sector.

The PrintWeek Awards serve as a platform for acknowledging excellence and innovation within the printing and packaging industries. Jury members have consistently noted the diversity in entries, advancements in digital printing, and the exploration of new materials.

The Awards Night for the 15th edition of the PrintWeek Awards is scheduled for 13 October 2025 at The Westin Mumbai Powai Lake.
