Rahul Kumar: How does your press architecture support modular upgrades between flexo, digital and hybrid?

Akshay Kaushal (AK): Miyakoshi, by its motto, have been manufacturing modular/bespoke machines. No two machines manufactured are the same. It has been known in the industry for manufacturing high-quality workhorse offset and digital presses. All its offset presses are basically hybrid with various combinations of offset, flexo, gravure, digital, etc inline. Even for the digital presses, various in-line units and embellishment options are available to choose from.
At the show, Miyakoshi introduced two new press models, one offset and flexo combination press with AI integrated (LPS 13A) and a water-based high speed inkjet press (MJP14LXA).

RK: What automation tools are integrated for makeready, registration, and colour calibration across mixed jobs?

AK: For the offset presses, Miyakoshi is introducing two revolutionary features at labelexpo, Yaless AI and Yaless Eye and entering the domain of AI. Yaless AI constantly monitors key factors surrounding the machine – like ambient temperature, dampening water conditions, ink temperature, etc and uses the power of AI to predict and auto-adjust printing conditions, preventing errors and quality issues. Yaless Eye enables operators to control the press using voice commands, facilitating an environment for intuitive, hands-free operation and faster trouble-shooting.

RK: How adaptable is your press to India’s labelstock diversity — BOPP, PET, linerless, ultra-thin?

AK: Miyakoshi presses have been well tested and proven in India now with its performance on all kinds of different substrates.

RK: What software integration is standard — Esko, PrintOS, AVT, others?

AK: Miyakoshi presses are highly flexible, and various software can be integrated as per applications and customer requirements.

RK: What inline embellishment options are available — and are they mode-independent?

AK: Miyakoshi manufactures 90% of the machines in-house and has a very high level of quality control on the presses they manufacture. And all the in-line and offline equipment are manufactured in-house and are not dependent on third party suppliers for the same. You name the option and it is manufactured by Miyakoshi.

RK: How are you helping converters reduce energy use, waste, and job rejection rates?

AK: It is the most advanced presses in its segments in the industry which make them highly energy efficient and with the lowest level of wastages on any offset press available in label segment. With the introduction of AI functions now, Miyakoshi is stepping up the game even further. Yaless AI functions are set to bring down paper wastage further by up to 38%.

RK: How is high print quality maintained when running variable or multilingual data at top speeds?

AK: Miyakoshi presses are the fastest presses in their segment, and not just fast, they are renowned in the world for their immaculate stability due to their robust transportation system and tension control using their patented microcomputer-based control system.

RK: What does future-proofing mean on your platform—head upgrades, curing modules, AI-based controls?

AK: Miyakoshi presses are changing the game with their manufacturing capabilities and modularity. Since Miyakoshi is manufacturing each and everything in-house, both digital and Offset presses have the longest possible lifespan for the presses in the industry. They are made to last a lifetim,e andthe  same is the story with Miyakoshi’s support and flexibility for future upgrades.

RK: What partnerships exist with finishing OEMs for alignment, embellishment sync, or tension control?

AK: Miyakoshi has ties ups with different OEMs for supporting equipment on their presses.
