Please describe your company.

Nice Prints, established in 2001, is a packaging specialist focused on cartons and leaflets for major pharmaceutical brands across India. Operating from a 32,000-sqft facility with 100 employees, we handle high-volume, high-precision jobs tailored to pharma requirements.

When did you start using Easymatrix?

We installed the Heidelberg MK Easymatrix 106 C die-cutter few years back to expand our packaging capacity and meet growing demands.

What are the properties of the Easymatrix that you like?

Quick-lock frames, test sheet removal, centre line adjustment register at all stations and user-friendly touchscreen. These features drastically reduce makeready times and simplify job changes.

Why did you decide to use the Easymatrix?

We needed to scale up from 110 tonnes of paperboard to meet rising demands. The Easymatrix offered speed, flexibility, and precision, helping us grow output by 10–15%. It’s ideal for our pharma-focused production. The decision to invest in the Masterwork Easymatrix 106 C was driven by the need to strengthen capacity in our converting section and improve overall post-print efficiency. With carton volumes increasing consistently, it became critical to augment die-cutting capability to prevent bottlenecks and maintain smooth workflow between printing and finishing. The Easymatrix 106 C offers the required speed, precision, and operational stability to handle higher loads effectively. Given our long-standing association with Heidelberg and confidence in the technology and service support, the investment was a logical extension of our growth strategy.

Did you look at other similar products?

Yes, we’ve previously invested in Bobst die-cutters and folder-gluers. However, the Heidelberg-Masterwork collaboration and the new joint venture for part production in China made Easymatrix a compelling choice for us.

What are the features that tilted the favour in this?

The machine’s speed of 7,700 sheets an hour, ability to handle 0.1- to 2-mm thickness and corrugated board up to 4-mm and motorised cutting pressure adjustment (up to 260 tonnes). These specs matched our diverse job requirements.

How much have these features helped you in your production?

We process 15 -20 jobs daily, ranging from special colours to foil decoration on cartons up to 450 microns. The Easymatrix handles these variations effortlessly, boosting efficiency and reducing manual intervention.

For what applications is the Easymatrix used?

It’s used for die-cutting and embossing pharma cartons and leaflets. 100% of our jobs are pharma-related.

Did you have any issues with product installation?

The installation of the machine was smooth, and the machine has been reliable. While no major issues have occurred, ongoing training and support are always welcome to maximise its potential.

If there’s a critical packaging job that has come your way, would you rely on this to see it through?

Absolutely. During the lockdown, packaging remained essential, especially for FMCG. The Easymatrix proved its reliability under pressure.

What’s the quality like?

The die-cutting precision and embossing depth are superior. Our cartons, 90% with special colours and 10% with embellishments, have seen noticeable quality improvements.

How easy is it to use and handle?

The touchscreen interface and automated features make it user-friendly. A packaging company should have consistent job volume, skilled operators, and space for a 106-format machine.

Would you say that it offers value for money?

Yes. It has enabled us to increase output, reduce makeready time, and handle complex jobs with ease, delivering strong ROI.

Who do you think the Easymatrix is right for?

It’s ideal for mid to large packaging printers, especially those serving pharma, FMCG, or other high-spec industries.

Under what circumstances would you recommend it to others?

We’d recommend it to any company looking to scale up die-cutting operations with speed, precision, and cost-efficiency, especially during high-demand periods.
