Please describe your company.
Dina Color Lab started as a Kodak collection centre with its first retail centre in 1991. Established by late Vijayalakshmi and later, under the guidance of Mani and execution by Dinakaran, the company has grown multifold in the last 30 years. It now has branches in more than dozen districts of Tamil Nadu with 200+ machines from Konica Minolta and other OEMs. It enjoys 30% market share of wedding albums in Tamil Nadu. With over 500 employees, Dina has a total capacity of seven-million prints per month with various finishing and binding options.

When did you start using the Konica Minolta AccurioJet KM-1?
In 2018.

What are the properties of the machine that you like?
Engine speed, colour reproduction, vibrant colours and colour consistency are the main advantages. The colour production exceeds our expectations. It can print a wide range of colours producing realistic photo prints.

Why did you decide to use the AccurioJet KM-1?
Konica Minolta’s sales and after-sales service are very good. We had worked with many top brands but the Japanese giant provided us with best sales and service support. That support and trust helped us invest in more Konica Minolta machines.

For what applications is the AccurioJet KM-1 used?
The AccurioJet KM-1 is primarily used for all digital B2 short-run applications like business cards, brochures, invitations, certificates, danglers, posters, tent cards, photo albums, menu cards, leaflets and short-run packaging applications. We also use it to print special substrates like metPET, synthetic media, plastic, canvas, and other non-tearable and non-absorbent medias and offset media without coating.

Is there anything that you do not like or can be improved about this?
Every machine has limitations and issues, but with the support from Konica Minolta we overcome these efficiently and quickly.

If there’s a critical printing job that has come your way, would you rely on this to see it through?
Yes, there were many instances where the print jobs were critical, time-bound and required colour consistency. We did those jobs successfully.

What’s the quality like?
Quality is always subjective. What I look at quality is offering an acceptable print quality; on time job delivery; reasonable price and offering quick solution to the end customers and make them satisfy with quality enhancement.

How easy is it to use and handle?
Konica Minolta machines are user-friendly.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
Yes, it offers a good value for money. It’s after-sales service never let us down.

It is a right fit for any digital print house which is planning to start the digital production printing.

Under what circumstances would you recommend it to others?
At any given circumstances I will recommend Konica Minolta.
