Arrow Digital hosts Printscape 2025 to highlight innovations in decor printing
Ahmedabad’s industrial hub witnessed a different kind of energy on 2 September 2025, as Arrow Digital opened the doors of its Innovation Centre for Printscape 2025: Innovation in Motion. Organised in association with Canon and Fotoba, the day-long event drew a crowd of print entrepreneurs, interior designers, technology suppliers, and media representatives.

Printscape 2025 was built as a cross-disciplinary forum merging live demonstrations with designer perspectives, panel discussions, and customer case studies.
Sam Patel, CEO and managing director of Arrow Digital, said, “Innovation doesn’t stop at machines. It’s about building ecosystems where creativity, technology, and business growth intersect. Printscape is our way of showing what the next decade could mean for Indian print businesses, particularly those eyeing décor and wallpapers.”
Stephanie Fitinghoff of Canon Singapore said, “India is a design powerhouse that demands technologies that combine flexibility, sustainability, and scale.
The event also saw a live demonstration of the Colorado M Series wide-format printer with UVgel technology. Ruud Sturme, Canon Production Printing, The Netherlands, said, “Wallpaper is now a mainstream décor. With UVgel, you can deliver high volumes, short runs, or bespoke designs without compromise. This flexibility is the growth engine for tomorrow’s print businesses.”
Niraj Shah of IDO Design delivered a keynote on the evolving role of wallpaper in modern interiors. He spoke about how clients are now seeking personalised storytelling walls far removed from generic patterns of the past. “Wallpaper is fast becoming an expression of identity. That is the shift printers must adapt to,” Shah said.
This flowed into a fireside chat moderated by Arrow, featuring Virendra Singh of Rivee Designs, Kanika Bawa of Kanika Bawa Designs, and Guus Richter of Sentec International. They discussed the economics of wallpaper, how clients perceive value, what they are willing to pay for custom design, and how printers can align offerings with designer expectations.
Adding a futuristic perspective, Marta Naranowicz of Caro Group demonstrated how AI-powered design tools, coupled with UVgel printing, are making décor personalisation more efficient and scalable.
The session, featuring Fotoba International’s Luca Bruson and Giacomo Alberto, underscored a reality every printer in the audience could relate to — the bottleneck in finishing is often the biggest bottleneck.
“Automation is not just about speed. It is about accuracy, waste reduction, and repeatability. In wallpapers, finishing defines profitability and client satisfaction,” Bruson stressed.
The afternoon panel discussion, Beyond Prints – Talking Walls in Residential, Retail and Hospitality, brought together Sam Patel of Arrow Digital, Ruud Sturme of Canon, Luca Bruson of Fotoba, Kanika Bawa, a graphic designer, and Tamim Mandsaurwala of Excel Home Décor.
The conversation ranged from sustainability and material choices to customer psychology and ROI. Sam Patel emphasised the need for eco-conscious solutions, noting that global buyers are increasingly demanding compliance. Sturme highlighted Canon’s investments in sustainable ink technologies, while Bruson pointed to waste reduction through automation.
Designer Kanika Bawa reminded the audience that for clients, walls are becoming canvases for storytelling, whether in homes or commercial spaces. Meanwhile, Mandsaurwala shared Excel’s success with Colorado printers, noting how the company scaled rapidly into wallpapers by combining design agility with production efficiency.
Vishwa M of Avery Dennison, who presented Walls that Speak, showcased how self-adhesive wall films are transforming spaces, offering printers new ways to bridge functionality with aesthetics. “The future lies in convergence printers must serve décor, branding, and retail needs with equal agility,” he said.
Customer success stories reinforced this. Tamim Mandsaurwala of Excel Home Décor and Virendra Singh of Rivee Designs both shared how adopting Canon Colorado solutions enabled them to grow their businesses while catering to high-end clients.
Digital technology is an enabler: Sam Patel
Speaking about the company’s latest initiative, Walls Reimagined, Sam Patel, CEO of Arrow Digital, emphasised how digital technology is enabling designers, architects, and print businesses to unlock new creative and commercial opportunities.
“Outdoor advertising has reached a point where innovation is limited. The next big opportunity lies indoors — in walls, interiors, and spaces where imagination thrives and customers are willing to invest,” Sam Patel said. He explained that wall décor and home interiors have transitioned from being a volume-driven market to one focused on value creation, with consumers seeking personalised, high-quality finishes.
Sam Patel highlighted the Canon Colorado series with UVgel technology as a game-changer in this space. These printers deliver odourless, colour-consistent, and durable wall coverings on a wide range of substrates while ensuring environmental safety with zero VOC inks.
“It’s not just about printing; it’s about empowering businesses to deliver design freedom and create premium value for their customers,” he added.
Arrow Digital’s state-of-the-art demo centre in Ahmedabad serves as a hands-on innovation hub, allowing visitors to explore end-to-end workflows — from design ideation and media testing to digital finishing and cutting solutions.
Sam Patel explained, “We are not competing with printers; we are enabling them to experiment, innovate, and transform their creative ideas into commercially successful solutions.”
Looking at future trends, Sam Patel predicted that finishing and embellishment will play a crucial role in digital printing’s growth, complementing advances in speed and image quality.
“Print is in our DNA. Our mission is to help the industry evolve — whether in wide format, packaging, or décor — by pushing boundaries and creating value-driven opportunities,” Sam Patel said.
