[Video] EFI Vutek GS5500LXr Pro lifts creativity to a new level at Printech

By 26 Feb 2018

Printech started its business in the year 1995, a time when the telecom boom in India was pushing the wide-format segment from ordinary to high-quality billboard printing.

Printech’s first Vutek was a solvent printer, at its Bengaluru plant. With the telecom opening up further, demand for wide-format printing increased. It also allowed Printech to expand its footprint in the southern part of India. It established a unit in Chennai, and one in Hyderabad, adding a couple of roll-to-roll Vutek machines at both the units.

The looming crisis in airport capacity has given substantial traction for newer ones, and an opportunity for Printech to mark its presence in North India. The company established a unit in Gurugram, close to the Delhi airport, and installed the EFI Vutek GS 5500 LXR Pro.

For Printech, staying within the environmental regulations was becoming critical. “Airports are supposed to be green and any material related to green is welcomed by them,” explained B Prasad, director at Printech Imaging, on why he picked up the GS 5500 LXR Pro.

The EFI Vutek GS5500 LXR Pro five-meter seven picolitre wide printer is powered by the Ultradrop technology. It is capable of printing on anything in roll form – carpet, wallpaper, billboards, or fabrics on substrates having a maximum thickness of 1.1inch. “It’s a rare feature,” says Prasad.
