Kodak Flexcel Solutions helped transform flexographic printing

While Miraclon, which was founded as a new independent company to take Kodak’s former flexographic packaging division forward, celebrated its first anniversary since its inception on 9 April 2019, its flagship product – Kodak Flexcel NX – is celebrating its 12 years of continuing success, just like PrintWeek.

Over a decade ago, Kodak started pushing back the traditional quality and performance limits of flexographic printing with Kodak Flexcel NX system – a revolutionary technological approach to digital flexo platemaking – with its debut at Drupa 2008. The technology offered a solution to some of the limitations of the established digital LAMS technology and pioneered the use of the digital flat top dots in the flexo industry.

In the later years, Kodak Flexcel Solutions helped transform flexographic printing. A report on the flexo plate market produced by Energias Market Research predicts a CAGR of 7.8% until 2024, valuing the market at USD 1.6 billion by that time. It was valued at USD 945 million in 2017.
