PrintPack 2019: TechNova sells Konica Minolta C6100 to Surat’s Kaagaz Press

By 03 Feb 2019

Within six months of launching its offset printing operations, Surat’s newly established Kaagaz Press has embraced digital printing as it opted for Konica Minolta C6100 at the TechNova booth on the second day of PrintPack India 2019.

Established in September 2018, Kaagaz Press initiated operations with a pre-owned Heidelberg press and Technova Thermostar T9 platesetter, Apogee imposition software and an in-house bindery set-up for soft-cover and hard-case binding.

Speaking to PrintWeek India, Narendra Ballar of Kaagaz Press, said, “A significant amount of printing work that we do is short-run. Moreover, the customers demand digital proof before they five a green signal for the production. This has prompted us to add digital printing capabilities to our operations.”

Kaagaz Press’s Konica Minolta C6100 will be equipped with EFI Fiery Color Profiler Suite to manage the colour output of the press.

Jitendra Kalani of Kaagaz Press, explained, “The idea is to make sure that press profiles are up to date and digital presses are properly calibrated. This colour management tool will enable us to print our digital output in sync with the offset machine. This is very important when you are catering to the textile market in Surat. And hence the EFI Fiery Color Profiler Suite makes a lot of sense.”

“We searched the market and found Konica Minolta to be the best fit for our needs not only because of the machine capabilities of the machine but also because of service support system that TechNova brings along with its association.”

S Swarnangka, chief marketing officer, TechNova, said, “We sincerely believe in a hyper-hybridised world of offset and digital. We are excited to serve companies like Kaagaz which are bringing new energy with digital in their core offset capabilities. This resonates with our theme – enhance offset and integrate digital.”

DDC-810 is TechNova’s new post-press offering

A PrintPack India 2019 show, TechNova has introduced Duplo’s DDC-810, a spot UV coater, which S Swarnangka, chief marketing officer for TechNova said, offers printers the capability to enhance their images on the printed sheet with a layer of texture and depth utilising ink jet technology through raised spot UV up to 80 µm with different textures and depths.

Its most special feature is the footprint, said Swarnangka. “The digital Spot UV device fits into limited spaces.”

The DDC-810 operated at a maximum speed of 36 ppm (A4) and media support of 157 gsm to 450 gsm and can be used to create raised effect on business cards, invitations, wedding cards, and boxes among others.

Inviting visitors to the TechNova stand (Hall 09, stand H1/H2), Swarnangka said, “Don’t miss the live demo of this exciting post-print solution.”
