Suvi Color Spot gets Kerala’s first Indigo 12000 HD

According to EM Wilson of Suvi Color Spot the innovations in the photo printing segment at HP were key considerations while deciding on the HP Indigo 12000 HD Digital Press.

Introduced this year at Consumer Electronic Imaging Fair (CEIF), the HP Indigo 12000 HD Digital Press helps in increasing productivity by offering a new level of quality for Indigo LEP-based digital photo production. Additionally, the device also uses the new HP Indigo HDFM screening technology for smoother, moiré-free prints with increased detail.

Suvi Color Lab was established in Changanasserry in 1990. Two years later, the company added Konica 808 printer processor, which was the first of its type in Kerala and only the second one in India. In 1994, it started its first branch at Mavelikkara. The company expanded its services by opening a branch at Adoor in 1996 and at Erattupetta in 1997.

One of the pioneers of digital printing in Kerala, the company introduced Noritsu 2301 HRCRT printer processor in 1997. In 2002, it added Durst epsilon 30 to its lab to provide wide-format prints to customers. The significance of this machine was that it can print photos up to 30-inches and of any length. In 2004, it closed its Erattupetta branch and began a unit at Thalayolapparambu in Kottayam district.

In July 2010, the company made a remarkable leap in the photography industry by introducing HP Indigo 5500 six-colour digital printer. In 2012, it invested in a HP Indigo 7600 seven-colour digital printer.
