Ashish Pradhan, CEO, Siegwerk India, said, “Siegwerk believes in excellence and everything we do in our business is highly focused. Promoting excellence in print, product safety regulation, HSE, and sustainability are at the core of Siegwerk philosophy. Therefore it is natural that we are here to support the Printweek India Green Printing Company of the Year Award and this association shows our commitment to excellence.”

Siegwerk has been actively promoting green products and technologies and this is reflected in their support for the Green Printing Company of the Year category. Ever since Pradhan took over the mantle, his focus is on sustainability. The printing ink manufacturer has published its first-ever Sustainability Report, based on the international GRI standard.

Pradhan said. “By launching the Sustainability Report, we want to provide even greater transparency and enter into an open dialogue with brands owners and our customers.” The main aim is: responsibility for environment and society. He said, “When formulating its inks, Siegwerk is not only looking for optimum performance based on customers’ processes but also to ensure that these inks are safe to use for the packaging applications. As a global leader in providing product safety, Siegwerk supports its customers when protection against regulatory risks or product contamination is required.”

Siegwerk has been at the forefront of introducing new products in the markets. For example, Siegwerk took the initiative for introducing UV inks for packaging which has helped in revolutionising packaging and design. Pradhan added, “Going ahead we have a portfolio of new products in our basket which will help us usher in a new era in the printing industry and also help us be close to our core philosophy.”

He said, “We believe that in this age of digitisation, print will still have a place of significance especially in the packaging segment. In India, we are expecting big movements into the retail sector and the brands trying to make inroads into the consumer mind space. So, both these factors combined will drive the packaging requirement.”

“In spite of the challenging economy for past six months in India, Siegwerk has seen good development, based on our market perceptions, understanding, and innovation,” said Pradhan
