Faridabad, Haryana-based RK Printers has invested in three folder-gluers from Boxtech Bangalore. The deal includes two Ecomatic and one Velocity Plus models. The installation took place in January at the company’s new print production plant in IMT, Faridabad.

Vikrant Malik, managing partner of RK Printers

Vikrant Malik, managing partner and second generation of family-owned business, said, “We have a long association with Boxtech. First, we purchased two pouch-pasting machines. Those machines laid the foundation of our trust in Boxtech’s quality and after-sales service. We saw the folder-gluers in an exhibition, and immediately decided to get them for our new plant in IMT Faridabad.”

The company placed orders for all the three folder-gluers in one go. Malik added, “The installation went smoothly. We are happy with the machines. We opted for the Ecomatic model for side pasting cartons, and the Velocity Plus model for our crash-lock pasting requirements.”

He said that the company is satisfied with the overall speed, functionality and performance of the folder-gluers. “The speed and accuracy of the machines are the best in the industry. The machines are easy to manage and the turnaround time is minimum. Boxtech has provided enough training to our operators,” he added.

Following the recent installation of a pre-owned Heidelberg printing press and a Bobst die-cutter, RK Printers is looking to convert 1.5 million cartons every day.

“Our vision is to be among the best and the top packaging companies in India. We are focusing on exports,” Malik said.

He added that the RK Printers team comprises professional experts who have technical skills, and they have played a crucial role in the success of the company. This includes the purchase and vendor coordination team, pre-press and production unit; client coordination; QC and QA team and the dispatch team.

“We, as a team, are dedicated to providing the best possible experience to our clients. We stand united to be a part of the legacy of RK Printers and are passionate to work for one of the leading packaging converters of India,” he said. “Our aim is to provide paramount solutions to our clients by constantly revolutionising our approach.”

He added, “We would definitely recommend Boxtech folder-gluers to everyone who is looking for an overall good package deal, in terms of cost and after-sales services. Since the machines are made in India, there is absolutely no trouble in arranging spare parts.”

Established in 1972, RK Printers was started by the three brothers — Rakesh Malik, KS Malik and Ramesh Malik in Anand Parvat, Delhi. The company’s new unit in IMT Faridabad is now operational, and manufactures mono cartons, labels and other packages. The Anand Parvat plant manufactures three and five-ply corrugated boxes of E and narrow flutes. Malik said the corrugation plant will be shifted to Faridabad soon.

The company specialises in mono cartons with multiple UV effects. It also produces labels, leaflets, corrugated boxes, rigid boxes, paper cache cover (paper pouches) and gift boxes. “Our products are on three major pillars of service, price and quality,” he said.

He added, “Our new building has been designed keeping sustainability and environment in mind. To reduce our carbon footprints, we have installed a solar power plant of 30 kW capacity and a rainwater harvesting plant on our premises. We believe rainwater harvesting is environmentally friendly and using the harvested rainwater is an excellent way of reducing carbon footprint and doing our bit to help the environment.”

He added, “We take our impact on the environment seriously. We are committed to an extensive recycling programme, including everything from paper and inks to the plates we use on our presses. We’re proud of our efforts and continually strive to do whatever we can to protect the environment.”

The new plant runs round-the-clock and supplies to the segments, such as pharma, cosmetic and ready-to-eat-food packaging.
