The main aim of the 14 April (Thursday) webinar at 4.00 PM is to seek "new growth applications with profitable revenue additions to their business."  Three speakers will present during the webinar. These are: Ashok Pahwa, commercial business manager, HP Indigo Digital Press India & Sri Lanka; E Murali Krishnan, national sales manager - digital business, Avery Dennison and Anup Verma, head of marketing and sales at Sona Fine Corporation.

Ashok Pahwa's focus is how "the share of short runs has tripled in the last decade." Pahwa will take a deep dive into the label market which he said has a total retail value of USD62.6 billion. He shared with PrintWeek how consumer trends are changing brands and how brands are changing packaging. Pahwa will share case studies of label applications during his 20-minute presentation.

E Murali Krishnan's presentation will focus on PS labels. He shared the demand trajectory for PS labels in A-Pac region as well as India. He stated how there was 12-15% machine installation YoY even during the Covid period. He pointed out, the sheetfed offset market still contributes to 25% of the PS label segment in India. But, this is changing. "In the past three years, the digital sheet market is growing at 25% CAGR, he said.

Anup Verma's presentation highlighted the fact "that when it comes to touch and feel plus acting on information, paper still reigns supreme over digital media." Verma's presentation like Murali Krishnan's and Pahwa's will underscore the importance of digital printing. How a business owner can produce customised designs in smaller batches for special campaigns around holidays or other special events or launch special designs and promotions for particular drinking products, such as on selected airlines. Verma told PrintWeek that "The digital printing process allows them to test a new package design in a small market and with a limited number of products." He said, "“In premium categories, a strong, captivating print piece shall help build stronger connections with your target.”

As per the HP team, the online webinar has been designed for commercial printers, "keeping in view the slow change in the commercial printing industry since the last 8-9 years. But now from the last two years, this segment in our industry is also going through lots of uncertainties."

Exclusive data from the brand new Smithers study – The Future of Digital Printing to 2032 shows that in 2022 the digital print will be worth USD136.7 billion. Demand for these technologies will remain strong with value increasing at a 5.7% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) to 2027, then at 5.0% for 2027-2032; yielding a market value of USD230.5 billion in 2032.

In the earlier editions of the PrintWeek-HP webinar, there was a presentation from Smithers-Pira which talked about the trends and insights into the Indian commercial print segment. The subsequent sessions had "live" demos from HP's Centre of Excellence in Singapore.

Three experts - Pahwa, Murali Krishnan, Verma - will be sharing their thoughts with the webinar delegates. Plus they will share their insights and strategies to tap the growing demand of label applications in the commercial printing segment. A must-attend session.
