The Student of the Year category is open to any engineering degree student, full or part time, on a print-related course at a recognised Indian college and should have passed out in 2015. The student should be planning to make a career in the printing and packaging industry. There is no limit to the number of students a college may nominate. Harsha A of PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, Pune was the prince of print at the PrintWeek India Awards 2015.

Among the applicants, Harsha A’s outstanding academic record, along with his projects and extra-curricular activities during the course of his studies at PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology, Pune, set him apart. He had consistently been a class topper and the recipient of scholarships. Additionally, for his research project on the “Effect of electrostatic force assist on defect reduction in shrink films”, he had received a scholarship.

Apart from his academic achievements, Harsha holds a Yellow Belt in Six Sigma. He has presented various technical presentations, of which “The effect of ink interfacial tension of substrate’s surface and printability in rotogravure printing” is a published paper.

Entries in this category should be submitted by a lecturer or a department head, and should include a report on why each student is nominated, together with examples of his or her work.
