PrintWeek Awards 2019: Ruchi Abhang wins Student of the Year

Ruchi Abhang completed her BE in Printing and Graphic Communication. Apart from her exceptional academic records, Abhang’s extracurricular activities during the four-year course sets her apart from the other candidates.

She worked on a project that comprised of an in-depth analysis on ‘future-ready sustainable flexible packaging’.

The project aimed at downgauging the five-layer structure of edible oil pouches to a three-layer, through the usage of co-extruded films comprising of polyethylene, barrier coat and polyethylene to produce 100% recyclable pouches.

She has won the Award of Excellence for Tom Frescka Student Printing Competition and has also bagged two bronze medals at national level speedball championship.

Besides this, Abhang is also a welfare worker at Aksharsparsh Matimand Niwasi Vidyalaya.

These achievements make her a worthy winner of the PrintWeek Student of the Year Award.
