Monotech’s star product at the show will be the Ricoh Pro C7200X digital production press

With two booths at the show, Monotech Systems will display a complete range of digital printing (label, commercial and publishing), digital print enhancement, and super wide-format UV inkjet printing, large format scanning and printing solutions.

“As PrintPack returns after a gap of three years, we have high expectations from the show. We see this as an opportunity to showcase our new products and capabilities and establish a physical connection again with the wider market, Tej Prakash Jain, managing director, Monotech Systems, said.

Jain said with the company’s association with Ricoh, Japan last year in the digital production printing space, the development of colour inkjet web press, KnowzzleJet, under its brand Jetsci, and new products from Scodix, Monotech’s capability in digital space has grown exponentially. Plus, the company also has its latest offering for the entry-level market, PixelGlow, and super wide-format UV inkjet printing under its brand Pixeljet.

“Thus, we are well-positioned to provide solutions that can transform the print business. We will present a complete spectrum of digital printing and print enhancement solutions with unlimited possibilities at our booths,” he added.

Monotech’s star product at the show will be the Ricoh Pro C7200X digital production press, which was launched in April 2021. The company will run a live demo of the machine at the show.

The Ricoh Pro C7200X is a cut-sheet colour digital production press with a fifth colour station, which enables beyond CMYK possibilities and prints additional colours like gold, silver, neon pink, neon yellow, clear and white.

The machine already has 15 installations in India, including at Dulari Digital, Ludhiana; Bharat Photostat, New Delhi, and Shri Paras Printers, Ahmedabad.

“With the Pro C7200X Series Graphic Arts Edition, you can go beyond CMYK to produce compelling materials that can command premium prices. Advanced workflows and capabilities help you fulfil demanding deadlines while keeping operational costs low,” Join said.

He added that at the show, the company will showcase unique technologies and products, along with applications where these can be used.

Jain said the last two years of the pandemic have taught three things — change is constant; technology is a big enabler, and diversification is the best hedge against disruption. “In this context, digital equipment needs less manpower. Even support can be extended remotely, making this useful in troubled times,” he added.

Talking about troubled times, Jain said the company suffered both in terms of top line and bottom line in both the waves of Covid-19. “But the recovery has been swift too. We used this time to accelerate our transition from distribution to a manufacturing organisation and stepped up our R&D activities. We now have an impressive product line up from all our six business verticals,” Jain said.

The business vertices include printing and packaging solutions; digital printing solutions; Jetsci (label, POD and VDP solutions); Pixeljet (super wide-format UV printing solutions), 3DMonotech; and large-format printing and scanning solutions.

“We also took major steps in digital transformation, which shall help in obtaining operational efficiencies and impactful marketing activities,” he added.

Speaking about the Indian label printing sector, Jain said the label printing market will have robust growth in 2022, and will continue to expand at a CAGR of 15% plus in next few years, given the expected GDP growth of Indian economy in high single digit, formalisation of economy, momentum in organised retail business and eCommerce. “Short runs, versioning, personalisation, track, and trace will lead to higher growth in the digital segment of label printing,” he added.

On the company’s quality mantra, Jain said, “We have a system and process-oriented approach in Monotech to achieve defined standards in all operating parameters to consistently meet customer expectations.”
