PrintPack 2019: Hybrid Software highlights Packz pre-press capability

“Packz is developed and supported by Guido Van der Schueren, the original founder of Artpro, and since 2011, we have been revolutionising the pre-press segment with it,” said Jacques Staelens, international sales manager, Hybrid Software.

An independent application unlike the majority of pre-press plugins available in the market, Packz has a host of features including its completely native pdf technology, trapping, structured assets, live objects, round trips. The company also recently launched its variable data printing module.

“I believe we have set the standard in pdf editing and unlike other packaging pre-press software which are available as plugins, ours is a full-fledged independent software and has no limitations whatsoever,” explained Staelens.

The strategy adopted by the company includes conducting several huddles in different countries to understand and standardise requirements which has helped us cross over 2,500 installations worldwide and the company has grown from a few people to a team of 100,” he added.

“In India, we have 45 installations so far at flexo, gravure and pre-media companies in the short span of our entry,” said Ramkumar Srinivasan, business development manager of Hybrid Software India.

The company is also part of the Ghent Working Group which focuses on steering the future of pdf.

“As part of our solution, we also offer colour management solutions in partnership with GMG and the application can we integrated with any CAD software without restriction,” said Staelens.

Last year, Packz had two major deals with Schawk and Autajon for approximately 425 and 100 licenses respectively.

“In India Huhtamaki, Radhe Industries, Rajhans and Unique Premedia solutions are some of the prominent clients,” said Srinivasan.
