Post-acquisition, AMS is now AMS Spectral UV

Baldwin, a world leader in UV, LED UV and IR drying systems, has acquired Air Motion Systems, the world’s leading provider of LED UV curing technology for the graphic arts industry, expanding its hold on the technology. As a result of this, Baldwin’s UV division has been rebranded and now it will be known as AMS Spectral UV.

Faridabad-based APL Machinery is the Indian representative of AMS. CP Paul of APL Machinery said the acquisition will be beneficial to both the companies, as the rebranded AMS Spectral UV becomes the world leader in UV and LED. “APL is going to be the company’s partner for south east Asia,” Paul said.

In India, APL has sold 29 LED UV lamps.

Pat Keogh, one of the commercial leaders of AMS Spectral UV, said, “We believe there is a need for and will be a lot of consolidation in the industry. This acquisition is a part of that. We have kept the AMS branding because it has done an incredible job in the area of marketing, particularly in the electronic media. If you do a Google search for LED UV or sheetfed LED, AMS is at the top of the first page, so it would have been silly to drop that.”
