OPA's 55-member delegation visit SinoFolding exhibition in China

The event which was held from 10-12 April and was spread over 80,000 sqm area with more than 700 exhibitors. 

 

Parveen Aggarwal, president, OPA, said, "Packaging in India is growing, and SinoFolding is an important platform for post-print equipment and consumables from across the entire folding carton packaging industry chain."

 

He added, "The visit was beneficial for the delegation and helped folding carton manufacturers understand equipment updates, enhance product structure, and explore new markets to meet the enterprises' development demands."

 

Kamal Chopra, general secretary of OPA, said, "Packaging is growing with the growth in e-commerce packaging will be enormous. The delegates learnt a lot on how to be competitive in the international market. Our objective for the group visit was to educate the local packaging manufacturers about the latest requirements and to learn how to be competitive."

 

Chopra added, "Our ultimate goal is to convert Ludhiana as the hub for the national and international packaging requirements. 

The visit of the delegation from OPA was supported by the Ministry of MSME, of the Government of India under IC scheme."

 

Under the scheme, 100% cost of the air tickets is reimbursed by the Ministry of MSME. Chopra informed, "Till date, OPA has organised 16 group visits with the support of Ministry of MSME under IC scheme and distributed about Rs 1.8-crore, grant-in-aid to the printers."

 

Aggarwal added, "Such trade shows are especially crucial for the printers of the city because it helps carton manufacturers to evaluate the feasibility of business expansion in the corrugated market. It is an opportunity to meet with the R&D and procurement decision makers to enlarge networks and to encash business opportunities."
