InterPrint Expo woos 15,000 printers from 29 cities

The InterPrint Expo, held at Chandigrah from 18 to 21 November 2016, wooed 15,000 visitors from 29 cities. Kamal Chopra, president AIFMP, Madhav KC, president Federation of Nepal Printers Association and Ms Xing Zhengjie from Reed, Shanghai, inaugurated the show organised by the Offset Printers’ Association (OPA). More than 100 companies from around the country showcased more than 3,000 products and machines.

The InterPrint Expo, organised with the cooperation of 53 leading printers association of the region, was spread over 15,000 sq/m and according to the organisers, business of around Rs 54 crore was negotiated during the exhibition. The ministry of MSME, besides the leading printing and allied organisations, including AIFMP, IPAMA, NPES, PEIAC, China, the Printing Technology Association of China, and China Academy of Printing Technology, supported the show.

This year, the theme of the exhibition was ‘Go Digital’. Parveen Aggarwal, president, OPA, said the 4th edition of the show was organised taking in consideration the demands of the printers from Himachal Pradesh and Haryana. The objective was to reflect the market’s evolutionary path driven by new needs, competition, technology, channels and other developments.

Towards this end, a ‘Print Yatra’ was conducted in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana and Chandigarh. “This time, through Print Yatra, we covered 45 cities covering a distance of 2,500 km,” Aggarwal said. “It’s because of the Print Yatra that printers from Mandi, Simla, Pathankot, Jammu, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Saharanpur, Yamunanagar, Mansa, Patiala, Ambala, Lucknow, Samana, Sangrur, Batala, Hanumangarh, Mohali, Ropar, Baddi and many more cities besides Chandigarh, Jalandhar and Ludhiana participated in the exhibition, making it one of the most successful event of OPA.”

A digital printing workshop was organised on the second day of the show. Speaking on the occasion, Chopra said, “Digital is the future. Benny Landa rightly said that everything that can become digital will become digital. Printing is no exception. Now digital machines are becoming popular even in tier-III cities, but the major problem is that the users are unaware of the endless possibilities, capabilities and capacity of a digital press. Hence the workshop to educate the user/printer about the endless possibilities of digital press, the digital printing workshop was organised.”

The workshop, attended by 113 delegates, was addressed by Rajendrakumar Anayath, director TIT&S, Bhiwani and Anjan Kumar Baral, former chairman, Department of Printing, GJUS&T, Hisar.  

Konica Minolta, Canon, TechNova, KMI Business Solutions, RSG Solutions, Friends Engineering Company, Huber Group, Ess Pee Packaging Machines were among the major exhibitors.
