"Since 2019, they have started building insert folders branded as Multi-Masters at their new facility near the Black Forest in Germany. The machine is completely built in Germany but is still available at an affordable investment cost for Indian customers. It is probably the first time a new GUK folder is being made available under Rs 25 lakhs," said Pallippuram Sajith, director of Impel-Welbound group.

The 14-year partnership between the two companies has resulted in many engineers from the Impel group getting trained in installing, commissioning, training and providing after-sales support on these machines- making India an important market for GUK outside of Europe and USA.

"Leading pharmaceutical printers have lapped up this opportunity, and within a short time many machines have come into India including Hyderabad Security Printers, Wikas Offset, Budhraja Packaging, Nice Printing and so on," Pallippuram added.

The popular Multimaster 38, which began shipping to India from March 2019, features fold pockets and deflectors, microprocessor-powered controller with counting function, and suction feeder PBA will come with vacuum pumps. It will come with four or six buckles in the first stage and four in the second. It will also be equipped with a GUK stacker to collect the leaflets.

"Over the years, our client list for GUK folders has been steadily growing. Temple Packaging, Pragati Offset, Printmann, Noble Packaging, Budhraja Packaging, Hyderabad Securities, Hitech Print services, Kumar Printers, Orient Printers, and Webtech have multiple installations of the GUK insert folders and VIJUK Outsert systems in their various plants," he said.

"We have also recently installed a book folding machine from GUK K-74 KTL in a book printer in NCR," Pallippuram concluded.
