Flexible packaging developer Siva Shankaran Natarajan dies

Siva Shankaran Natarajan, the former head of business development, packaging business, UFlex, passed away recently due to Covid-19. He was with UFlex for over eight years and has held several key positions in the flexible packaging industry for 23 years. He left UFlex over a year ago.

A source at UFlex said, “Siva Shankaran Natarajan was a seasoned flexible packaging developer and marketeer, who helped in developing new products for bettering human life and providing better value to the brand owners. He had developed several new products in flexible packaging in India and had won several awards and recognitions.”

During his stint at UFlex, Natarajan and his team had developed Flexfresh, a shelf-life extension solution for fresh produce, and validated with successful results across diverse products across the globe.

Flexfresh is used in shelf-life extension for several products such as green chilies, lychee, cut flowers and fruit, beans, pods, soft fruit, mushrooms, broccoli, brussels sprouts, capsicum, lettuce, chicory, leek, herbs, peppers, potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, cherries, grapes, kiwi, mango, melon, pomegranates, bananas, plums, etc.

Natarajan developed several products for the Indian market and won several Indian and International awards for his developments. He was member, governing body, Northern Regional Council, Indian Institute of Packaging and played an active role in the flexible packaging industry in India.
