Digital Printer of the Year: Avantika Printers

Last year’s joint winner in the category, New Delhi’s Avantika Printers, rules the roost once again, on the strength of its digital prowess.

50 copies of The Hindustan Times coffee table book has been produced on 190gsm Irish SG white and Stardream Antique Gold paper on a Canon Imagepress C8000VP. The hardbound book has screen printing with gold prototype on the cover along with UV. The hand-bound box is made of khadi fabric with gold prototype pasted on it. 
 
The Kalpavriksh Guru programme guide for Deepika Design Studio has a run length of 50 and is printed on Galgo fine paper on a Canon Imagepress C800. The saddle-stitched book has gold screen on the cover.
 
The 100 copies of the Canon Media catalogue are printed on a Canon Imagepress C800. The catalogue showcases Canon’s prowess to print on multiple substrates using different image outputs. Thus, a variety of papers from Cordenons, Galgo, Kyoorious, Conqueror, Fedrigoni and Sappi are used. Colour consistency is maintained through robust process control on different substrates. The cover of the hardbound book is printed through screen printing on satin. 
 
The LSD Invite for YS Design has a run length of 100 and is printed on 230gsm Iris SG White and 170gsm matt paper on Konica Minolta C6000. The hardbound job with 3D lamination also features laser-cutting and a popup.
