Bhavik Publications installs India’s first inkjet web press by Monotech

Ahmedabad-based Bhavik Publications has installed the first fully integrated high speed print-on-demand inkjet web press jointly developed by Monotech Systems and Pressline. Jetsci (Monotech Systems) supplied the complete application and inkjet printing solution and Pressline supported the web control system with inline sheeter.

The machine, which is already in production for over three months, has been installed with inline servo driven variable cut-sheeting device.

Apart from print-on-demand book printing applications, the machine can be fully utilised in more demanding transactional and security printing applications.

Dipak N Patel, owner, Bhavik Publications, said, “We were looking for a digital press for our print-on-demand short-run jobs in publishing and security printing for over two years but could not find the right solution which has speed, quality, the local support availability and reasonable requirement of investment. The inkjet web press fits all our requirements very well. We are really happy with quality and productivity on the machine.”

Established in 1981, the turning point for Bhavik Publication came in 1995, when the promoters of the company decided to have more focused approach towards the business and decided to start educational publication business. It became a private limited company in 2004 and today carries out business in print and multimedia dimension (printers, publishers, manufacturers and sellers of educational materials.

Patel said, with the machine, the company is now able to deliver jobs in the shortest turnaround time. The machine can deliver high quality at resolutions up to 600-dpi and speed of up to 150-m/min. The programmable variable cut-sheeter ensures the perfect delivery in the sizes.

“We will gradually move our all short- and medium-run jobs on this press and also will offer the great value addition to our customers of digital printing like variable data and security printing along with the regular jobs,” he added.
