Ahmedabad-based Canpac Trends invested in the Speedpeq software at the IndiaCorr Expo 2014. Nilesh Todi, director Canpac Trends, says, "We are very satisfied by our decision to install the Speedpeq software. It has been a great experience to work with Speedpeq software and get a good response when we are in need thereby delivering and understanding our customer needs."
Apart from this, the company has 100 installations across India. Some of its key customers include Art-O-Print, Shri Printwell Offset, Shreedhar Printers, Sri Sudhindra Offset, Brindavan Printpac, Mosco Prints, Atharva Packaging, Multiplexus India, Jaipur Printers, Ramji Press, Zodiac Reprographics. They have a presence in middle-east and Nepal as well.

ParamERP has competition, both domestic and international. Vinod Nawab, director at ParamERP Solutions says, “We feel generic ERP developers are killing the spirit of MIS among printers because, at the end of the day, they fail."

The complete procedure right from enquiry, estimation to invoicing and business analysis is termed as workflow of printing and packaging MIS. In a print or packaging shopfloor, paper undergoes different processes to be converted into a finished product. All the processes and operations can be defined, scheduled, recorded and tracked based on a particular finished product using a Management Information System (MIS). ParamERP's Speedpeq software provides a complete procedure from enquiry, estimation to invoicing and business analysis.

The thing that sets apart Param is that it offers unlimited user licenses, web- enabled multi-locational support, multi-company support, customisation and special application development, lower AMC rates, three versions to fit pockets, one stop solution for all types of printing.

The Speedpeq software, launched in 2009 is available in three versions basic, premium and ultimate depending upon requirements, affordability and features to fulfil the needs of the Indian printing and packaging market.

"It assists the user in collection of various information on materials, series of applications, manpower, other expenses directly and indirectly involved in business activities at any level," says Vinod Nawab, director at ParamERP Solutions.

"This workflow has well-defined objectives and is governed by set of standards. It can also be defined as set of operations, forms, database and reports for managing printing business,” he adds.

According to Nawab, this is a print management to business management software which has basic features for Indian print market, where computer literacy index of shop-floor team is below average. "Speedpeq consists of single modules of estimation, quotation, right from shopfloor management to dispatching.

The software has been seamlessly integrated with several other third party software like Tally to facilitate the accounting side of the business as well. The software features 85 pre-built reports which can generate graphs and charts to provide the user with performance and profit statistics.
Some of the features include order management, job card, purchase, sales, inventory, dynamic scheduling, production planning, quality control, logistics, accounts and invoicing etc.

Speedpeq is designed keeping in mind the price sensitive market like India where the degree of sensitivity varies from product to product and segment to segment. One aspect on which Param has focussed is the multi-dimensional benefits which the software can offer. Nawab says, “The cost effectiveness of using the product entails benefits like time-saving, wastage control, process transparency, efficient estimation and utilisation of capacity.”

ParamERP’s USP is their level of customisation acceptance, claims Nawab. Param provides specific solutions to individual printers and converters. Speedpeq, in this regard provides the printer with features wherein one can estimate the cost of multiple contents of packaging jobs, publishing jobs, commercial jobs for multiple quantities at a time.

To list certain customisations; quote at any place without disclosing basic price structure, multi-company options to run on a single network, grid rate structure for book publishing houses, ink kitchen module, customer register/login page and job uploading facility on website; request a quote facility on website with integration of costing tool at server.

"No two softwares would be the same," he says.

Speedpeq software is targeted towards the commercial printers, print packaging companies, publishing houses, corrugators and narrow-web flexo printers or print brokers seeking a time saving and simpler workflow and wishing to improve job estimation, tracking, scheduling and decision making.

In the Indian print scenario, competitive rates are a crisis for printers. Speedpeq offers a productive solution on how one can utilise the setup efficiently. The MIS is sufficient to check the capacity utilisation index of all machines on the shopfloor and check the performance of same machine in different shifts with different operators working.

Also in MNC's where one has to follow rules and regulations, Speedpeq assists them by use of its artificial intelligence, a new addition by the company, where sets of functions are pre-defined for different products and quality standards. This in turn avoids redundancy and limits input data.
