Launched in 2009, Pixeljet range of machines is the flagship product of Chennai-based Monotech Systems.

Pixeljet products comes in three variants namely solvent, eco-solvent wide-format prints and UV-flatbed printers.

“Targeted towards the outdoor media and publicity, Pixeljet range of machines offers versatility and reliability,” says Manoj Garg, national product head, Monotech Systems. “We also have products to print on rigid substrate for use in interior decoration and novelty gift items,” he adds.
According to Garg, the machine is "defined stable and user friendly" because of its latest technology and standard components in the assembly, put it in a class of its own. He says, “the machines are designed to be more productive with standard components. The  use of negative ink flow and negative pressure systems in the assembly combined with servo drive systems makes it unique for our customers.”

"The range of Pixeljet large format printers are suitable for small as well as high scale business purposes and can be used for printing colour as well as black and white line drawings, outdoor advertising, signage, maps, presentations, among others. These are also available in different models and specifications to suit the diverse requirements of clients," he adds.
Pixeljet machines are aimed at jobbers and corporate customers. Monotech has achieved approximately 500 installations. Some customers include Hi Graphics in Delhi, Rise Advertising, Dolphin Glow Sign, PGH International, Zero Graphics and Jot Creation.

Technical Specifications:

Solvent Printers
The Pixeljet machine works on  piezo-electric Drop on Demand (DOD) technology.
The pixeljet machines can be assembled with three different print head configurations from Xaar, Konica Minolta and Specta Polaris and comes in a width of 3.2m and offers a print resolution upto 720 pixels.

Pixeljet 3300H with Konica Minolta head model of the solvent printers has the highest productivity in the market, claims Garg.

The press, has four salient features: durable construction, superior print quality, versatile design and ease of operation.

"The distance between the print head and the media is close to 1.5 to 3mm which offers a high precision printing," says Garg explaining a unique property of the solvent printers.
FPGA high speed raster control system with encoder assists the system in a good printing speed and high precision.

The highly efficient hot air drying system and digitally controlled servo drive systems virtually offers high speed consistent prints in a shorter time.

Eco-Solvent Printers
Pixeljet' range of eco-solvent printers offers 16 pass technology capable of achieving a resolution of 1440x1440dpi with a print speed 3 sq-m/sec.

The maximum printing width of the eco-solvent printers are 1615mm and 1869mm.
It works on an Epson Dx5 micro piezo and stainless steel cartridge.  With the use of 180 nozzles x 8 lines per head the eco-solvent print can print double four colours.

Uniqueness of the Pixeljet eco-solvent machine is the multi-row pinch rollers which ensures that the machine can print with an accurate size of the feeding media.

The machine offers four different modes depending on the quality of print. Draft mode which can print at speeds of 15.5 sq/m per hour, production mode at 10.5 sq/m per hour photo mode at 7.7 sq/m per hour and hyperfine mode at 5.9 sq/m per hour.

UV flatbed printers
Pixeljet's UV printers can be used for printing on glass, tile, ACP printing for roll to roll PE, polycarbonate, wallpaper, etc.

According to Garg, there are numerous UV flatbed printers available in India especially from many Chinese brands. "The price and the maximum coverage of print is the major factor that separates the Pixeljet machine from those of the other locally available machine," says Garg.

Future:
"Right now our focus is on the domestic market but very soon we are intending to target the international markets even though we have several installation in the International market," says Garg.
