Describe your company.
Established in 2002, Satyam Scan is one of the oldest pre-press service bureau in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company started a digital print arm, Easy Print in 2012. The firms are managed by Mahendra Mehta and his two brothers Dinesh and Dipak.

What does the machine do?
We use the C8000 for short-run printing jobs.

Why did you make the purchase?
For its ability to produce offset-like quality and enhance flexible variable data printing.

Did you look at any other similar machines?
Yes. We looked at the Xerox 5000 and the Canon 7010 digital printing presses.

Why did you make the purchase?
We were looking to move into a new sector in printing. With the C8000, we saw an opportunity in digital print.

What features do you particularly like?
The C8000 has many features like FM screening technology, 1-bit technology, image stability and density control. But from our point of view, the feature that particularly benefits us is the image stability control. Here the short-interval stability control monitors image consistency during continuous printing without affecting performance. Corrections are fully automatic, which enhances production efficiency.

How fast is it?
At 80 ppm of A4 sizes, it’s perfect for our operation.

What’s the quality like?
Very good. We also use the kit for proofing purposes, and the offset like quality helps. It also excels with shortest turnaround times.

Is there anything that you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Yes, the banner print facility, which is available in KM presses.

How easy is it to use?
To begin with it, it was a little tough but now everyone in our office can handle the press.

Has it won you any new work?
Yes, and it’s because of its quality and ability to print on paper of up to 350gsm and duplex printing on up to 300gsm paper.

Would you say that it offers value for money?
In terms of price and the quality it delivers.

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?
No. It was smooth.

What about the pre and after-sale service?
Monotech Systems installed the machine. We have not faced any problems, pre- or post.

Who do you think the machine is right for?
For any print companies looking for short-run jobs with variable data printing at an affordable cost or some one looking to add digital print to their print offerings, this is the best machine.

Under what circumstances would you buy another?
At present the existing machine satisfies our requirement. But should the demand for digital print increase, we would certainly opt for a second one or replace the existing one with a higher capacity machine.

Conclusion
User’s verdict

Supplier’s Response
Ajeeth Parekh, DGM for sales at Monotech Systems, says, “We began our relationship with Satyam Scan about 10 years ago by supplying an imagesetter. Over the  years, the relationship blossomed through the supply of many different equipment with last two being the C8000. Satyam Scan is an organisation, which has been growing at fast pace and well known in the market for their commitment to business as well as the quality of service they provide to the customers. They have diversified into digital print. They were the first customer to own a C8000 in Ahmedabad and we are glad to see the growth they have achieved in their digital printing business with KM C8000.”
