What does the machine do?
The five-colour M 600D heatset web machine does a wide range of commercial or publication applications.

Why did you choose this particular system?

To bring in a new era of super fast printing technology into the Indian print industry.

Did you look at any other similar systems?

Yes, we did take a look at other brands. But our decision to purchase M 600D was confirmed when we saw the productivity, efficiency and other features could not be matched by their competitors

Why did you make the purchase?

To reduce makeready wastage by a whopping 50%. The speedy and efficient makeready helped us launch niche magazines and provide improved services to existing customers.

What features do you particularly like?

The auto registration system combined with auto ink density control guarantees consistency of quality throughout the run.

Is there anything that you dislike?

Not really, but for optimum use, it requires long run jobs which is not always available.

How fast is it?

The M 600D can print at a maximum speed of 70,000 iph.

How reliable is it?

It’s an extremely reliable and consistent machine but very sensitive to input.

What’s the quality like?

Excellent. M 600D controls colour and folder setting accurately to establish and maintain excellent quality throughout the run.

How easy is it to use?

It is a user friendly machine. We have trained all young engineers without any previous experience to run this machine. It has minimum dependency on human skill to produce high quality result.

Is there anything that you wish it had that it doesn’t?
Two things. I really feel the machine should have had – a collect mode on folder and a moisturising unit which helps in maintaining the moisture in the paper. These two things would have made this machine more unique.

How much time or money has it saved?

It is a very fast machine and we improved our turnaround time by 50%.

Has it won you any new work?

After the installation of this machine, we bagged many international magazines and books, just because of it’s quick turnaround time

Were there any difficulties experienced during the installation or after?

We had some teething problem initially which took a little

time for Goss to solve.

What about the pre and after-sales service?

We should mark it as “fair”.

Who do you think the system is right for?

It’s ideally suitable for long run high quality magazines. Its fast makeready also makes short run jobs lucrative but with lesser speed.

Under what circumstances would you buy another?
Only a large volume of business can drive another Goss M 600D buy.
