APL Machinery launched the fully automatic UV coating and curing system in 2003 and double station UV curing system in 2009.

APL Machinery (earlier known as Abhishek Print Line), is a leading manufacturer and exporter of printing and screen printing machines, both for flat and round surface. C P Paul, managing director at APL Machinery, says: "We launched the double station offline UV coater with a speed of 6,000 copies per hour at PrintPack 2011, as it was an important platform for the printing industry as many firms introduced their latest global technologies during the show."

Paul added: "We are even planning to showcase it at IGAS, Japan, as we feel that there is big potential in the Japanese market due to a lot of transformation taking place in that country. Besides, we are trying to increase the speed of this machine to 10,000 cph so that printers can get better value for money."

APL has an installation base of more than 70 in the domestic and international market, print companies like Cheema Print Pack, Ruchira Packaging, Masterlin, Nova Publication, Paper Dream, T-Series, Suban Prints, Express Printing have invested in the APL coater.

UV curing unit
The curing system is attached with this machine which is equipped with two UV lamps and three IR lamps having throughout vacuum bed on conveyor. The delivery and the stacking unit is developed in-house with the great efficiency for handling the papers.

Lamps are enclosed in an irriDator reflector which has a separate extended imported reflector with good cooling system for better lamp life. UV and IR lamps are from one of the best manufacturer in the world with running hour warranty.

For operation of lamps, the control system is equipped with half power and full power system.

New plant
APL Machinery will soon be shifting to their new factory, a two-acre facility in Prithla. This new facility is 10 km from their existing facility in Faridabad.

Rajiv Kapoor, chief executive officer at APL Machinery, says: "The factory is being built in an area of 65,000 sq/ft area with latest machineries for the production of machines involving an investment of around Rs 20-crore."
