According to the firm this is the first VLF platesetter from Kodak in the Western region.
Ashish Vazirani, managing director at Rachna Prints, said, “We did look at the other technologies available in the market but we finalised on Kodak's technology as they have been a pioneer in the imaging technology. We opted for thermal technology because of the high quality requirement.”
Vazirani added, “We were using the conventional plate exposing technology for which film is required. Procuring a film positive of 40x56inch is expensive and a difficult task for our customer and us. Moreover, the quality achieved by using the conventional method is not very high. The important factor is time. The Kodak VLF platesetter will help in reducing the time and saving money. It will provide higher quality printing with faster turnaround and more control on the press.”
Vazirani plans to educate the clients about the benefit of using VLF platesetter for producing the plates. According to him some of his clients have demanded CTP plates instead of PS plates.
The firm has invested in 1,500sq/ft unit in Bhivandi to start the bureau and three four-wheelers for delivery of the plates in Western region.
