“Xerox is the first in the industry to offer metallic gold or silver dry ink at rated speed. With this new device offering of phenomenal power saving capabilities and our existing portfolio of digital presses, we would look to further consolidate our market share,” said Balaji Rajagopalan, executive director of technology, channels and international distributor operations, Xerox India.

The 1000i device includes an optional Specialty Dry Ink Station that enhances documents with metallic gold or silver dry inks or applies spot or flood creative effects with clear dry ink. This technology was developed in Xerox-HCL’s research facility in Chennai.

The 1000i can migrate lucrative foil stamping applications, such as invitations, certificates and business cards, to short-run, high-value digital production.

“The last six to seven months has been interesting for us with several new product launches including the Versant 80/2100 and the addition of the 1000i will help us reach newer markets better, In fact the response for the 1000i has been exciting with customers from Indore and Surat who have been visiting our stall,” Rajagopalan added.

The 1000i Press is essentially an upgrade to the Xerox 1000 press and maintains the top performance with a print speed of 100 prints a minute on media up to 350gsm while adding upgraded software to fully automate several critical processes such as colour calibration and front and back alignment etc.

“The show was a huge success to us and the southern market continues to contribute a significant share of our production business (50%),” said Rajagopalan.

Apart from launching Color Press 1000i, Xerox also launched the Xerox C60 with FFPS DFE based on the Microsoft Windows platform and showcased a fleet of digital printing equipment’s like Xerox Versant 80, Xerox C70 with the latest Fiery® FS150 and Xerox Phaser 7800.

“Our target for the next few months is to ensure we add more partners and reach newer cities throughout the country,” said Rajagopalan.
