Xerox Color 1000i press finds popular acceptance

Launched during PrintExpo in Chennai last year, the Xerox Color 1000i, which offers Pantone metallic gold or silver specialty dry inks at rated speed, has received popular acceptance in the Indian market, a company source said. The press, which comes with features such as full-width automation, HyperRIP from Fiery, auto sheet clearing, provides print firms with a competitive advantage.

According to Xerox, it helps users expand their digital businesses by producing full-colour, personalised applications with vivid images on a wide range of paper stocks, thereby increasing workflow efficiency and productivity.

Abhishek Nangia of Bharat Photostat said the press has been one of the company’s key growth drivers. “This is the only press with gold and silver colour printing. This makes us stand out in the market,” Nangia said, “We have done some great tag and label printing on the 1000i and are happy with the results.”

Nangia added that the machine has helped the company achieve massive productivity and generated savings of up to 40% in runs. “We have carried out three lakh prints on it since February,” Nangia said, “Equipped with the unique, stand out features along with flexibility in printing on multiple mediums, we now look forward to capturing a larger share of the market.”

The 1000i includes an optional specialty dry ink station that enhances documents with metallic gold or silver dry inks or applies spot or flood creative effects with clear dry ink.

Running all weights at rated speeds of 100 ppm, Xerox Color 1000i delivers widest ranges of media handling, from 55 gsm to 350 gsm. It prints at 2,400x2,400 dpi for excellent sharpness and uniformity. It delivers outstanding midtones, crisp text, pure neutrals, detailed shadows, bright highlights and excellent photo rendering, perfect for today’s hot specialty photo applications.

The machine’s full width array inline sensor provides key functions that automate otherwise time-consuming setup tasks. These automated adjustments are easy, integrated and fast and they help operators ensure the system is ready for optimal performance before jobs start running, minimising interruptions and maximising performance.
