Xaar enjoys record financial year in 2012

Xaar's technology, particularly in the digital decoration of ceramic tiles spear-headed the company’s sales figures as the group went on register record sales numbers in 2012. Xaar group has more than doubled revenue over the last three years with growth in excess of 25% for each year.

The revenue of the group is up by 26% to £86.3m. Xaar have also invested heavily in research and development in the last calendar year, 9% of the total revenue was invested in their research and development division, which included a 50% growth in their R&D staff.

The growth in sales in 2012 was accompanied by the successful completion of a £22m capacity expansion programme at their Huntingdon facility.  The group also has plans for further capacity expansion during 2013 to support the increasing demand for products in ceramics and other applications.

Commenting on the results, Chairman, Phil Lawler said, “Our patented inkjet technology demonstrated its market leadership and is now dominant in the digital decoration of ceramic tiles around the world.  Our results for the year also benefited from the successful investment in expanding our manufacturing capacity."

Meanwhile, Xaar India hosted its first programme of digital ceramic decoration seminars at Indian Ceramics from 19-21 March 2013 in Ahmedabad which will also showcase its Xaar 1001 printhead.

According to Xaar, the seminars at Indian Ceramics will provide in-depth guidance to everyone involved or interested in digital ceramic tile printing and who wishes to know more about the technology.
