Vijayawada’s carton maker JC Graphics bolsters die-cutting capacity

In a bid to boost its die-cutting capacity Vijayawada-based JC Graphics has invested in a MK Easymatrix 106 CS die-cutter. The equipment was supplied by Heidelberg India.

Karunakar, managing director of J C Graphics, said, “With motorised cutting pressure adjustment for up to 260 tonnes, the Easymatrix 106CS performs die-cutting and embossing operations at a speed of 7,700 sheets per hour. We are impressed by its capability to handle substrates with thickness ranging from 0.1 mm to 2 mm and corrugated board up to 4mm without any changes in the feeder.”

The machine boasts of non-stop rake delivery, which enables uninterrupted production during pile changes and a Quick-Lock system that ensures rapid and precise positioning of tools on the stripping frame thereby eliminating time-consuming, manual re-positioning of tools for each production run.

Established in 1990, JC Graphics caters to the packaging requirements of the food, pharma and FMCG companies with marquee names like Godrej, Rickett Benkiser and JK Industries on its roster.

Over the last few years, the company has been consolidating its position in the carton packaging space. In 2014, the company invested in a brand new Heidelberg CD 102 UV press that so as to manufacture specialised MetPET cartons. Then in the following year, the company shored up its post-press department with an investment in Bobst Expertfold folder-gluer and Wen Chyuan offline coater and MetPET lamination machine and H&H window patching machine.

The same year JC Graphics was credited with an ISO 12647-2:2013 certification from Heidelberg. The company became the first and only Indian print firm with this certification, after the Germany manufacturer certified 150 print shops worldwide.
