Vibes Academy announces date for their printing press clinic

Chennai-based Vibes Academy will host a seminar on ‘Printing Press Clinic’ on 28 June 2017 at Hotel Sabari Inn, Chennai.

The event would give participants access to an eminent panel of six experts who would address a set of twenty commonly occurring problems in the print environment apart from providing ideas and solution for other specific problems brought to them.

The expert committee include V S Narayanan, general manager – technical, Dinamalar Tamil Daily, R P Lakshmivenkatraman, associate vice president – prepress, The Hindu, S Madhavan, group works manager, Ananda Vikatan group, K Krishnan, print consultant and former vice president – production, The Hindu, B Kumar, professor at Anna University, Chennai and K Pantala Selvan of Pressman Solutions.

Some of the topics or problem areas that are to be highlighted in the seminar range from delayed make-ready leading to material wastes, misregister due to fan-out, maintaining print densities, doubling, effective use of print targets, industrial benchmark of newspaper waste, best colour sequence, maintaining pH and conductivity, profiles in colour management, noise, creasing of paper, haphazard delivery, web breaks, production delays etc.

Earlier in February, the academy had conducted a seminar on web printing aimed at newspaper industry and commercial printers.
They had also launched their newsletter in January 2017.
